ne1 else think that the kimbo knock out looked funny?

we all know kimbo sucks but i just find it hard to believe he got knocked out by that weak ass jab. the jab hit him and wasn't even cocked back. you don't even see kimbo's head move from the punch.

“It didn’t feel too flush,” Petruzelli said of the first punch that apparently didn’t even need to land squarely to fell Kimbo.

the punch didn't even squarely hit kimbo.

seemed strange to me. not to sound like a conspiracy theorists but something don't feel right. i dont know why kimbo would lose this fight but.

i ran the tape back and forth like 15 times. . .the way he went to the floor looked real. . .how he got there seemed virtually non-existent. . .seriously. . .he looked to walk/lean into a half-hearted jab that was already at full extension (i.e., had nothing left on it) before he got there. . .ponderous. . .
 
I've seen school girls fight better.

Seth was throwing those weak kicks and falling back. The "punch" didn't even look like it had any force behind it at all. It must have caught him just right, Kimbo did have a nice cut.

Just goes to show ya, anything can happen.
 
it really doesnt make sense. it was one the lightest and weakest punches i've ever seen. and it was admitted it didn't even hit flush. makes no sense...

He lacked confidence and cornered himself and retaliated with all arm and an awkward and weak landing. Seemed out of place.
 
I watched it and somehow I was thinking the same thing. I watched a beach fight with him in it and Im telling you this guy hit him so hard he literally spun all the way around and almost lost.. Im going to youtube and see if I can find it.. I bet Pick3 has it.. Hey Pick chime in.

I agree however he was noncomplacent about the whole thing afterwards. weird.. why would he throw the fight ? when he stands to gain more financial gain unless a promoter doing something else with him...?

he made no attempt to defend himself though. . .he appeared to be stunned. . .just can't figure out what did it. . .
 
it wasn't even a jab. it was a nothing punch. look at the replay. the jab was already extended and there was no power behind it. this reall makes no sense at all.
 
i think i could take that shot, what got me was it didnt look like dude even hit him that hard when he was down. looked like a jail house sticking (knifing)

eh, there might be more behind it than that. having an undefeated kimbo is more marketable. he still had a lot to prove and he is now regarded as a flat out bum. it pretty much discredits elite xc if he were to headline more shows especially if he doesn't easily win the next.
 
I don’t think they had much confidence in his abilities before this fight.

Why would they pair him with Tank & 44 y.o. Ken Shamrock? Neither had a credible win in several years.

thats true i seen kimbo get his ass kicked alot worse in backyard brawls and keep comming like a bull .. might have been the fixaroo

iv seen the video now, the punch that took him down was nothing, we all know kimbo can take a better punch than that, he was leaning right into it though, and seth just pounced on him. i think he just overwhelmed kimbo. he had a nice split over his left eye.

Just because he can back yard brawl, and kick the shit out of some untrained fighters doesn't mean shit to me.

When he starts fighting some credible fighters in his weight class and wins i'll change my tone. Until then...he's a bitch

He got hit on the sweet spot. Right on the chin. Doesn't take a real hard punch if you get hit in the right place.

I diidn't even see this fight, but its interesting, I overheard a dude at work utter that it didn't look like the smaller guy was hitting him that hard.
I overheard the simiar statements in the gym.
When it comes to combat and on the take, if here is doubt, then there usually isn't, probably holds up.
 
Don't have a chin, you going down when hit..... plain and simple. He was cut up nice. Lost his footing before the weak a$$ swing...... Dude just didn't do his job, and paid the price. Again as I said in another thread and someone tried to make fun of me: Size isn't everything, knowledge is where it's at as well.....
 
Kimbo must realize he is not brawling... with the perfect timing he could get his ass kicked. But this fight was BS, the other guy was fucking scared...

One thing is having a little fear and being cautious the other is being totally scared, scared at MMA (not streetfighting) makes you vulnerable to mistakes, hinders your aerobic capability, the power and accuracy it's lower etc. Having a little fear it's the best because keeps you sharp and powerful.
 
I'm still a huge Kimbo fan, he's a good bro.

yeah, ok, there is a lot of hype surrounding him, il give you that, but a bitch? the guy would rip your arms off and beat you to death with the bloody stumps.
i think people give him more shit than he deserves. yeah ok, he isnt the most technically skilled fighter in mma, but he loves to pull his sleeves up and get stuck in, plus the guy will literally fight anyone.
he made a mistake and got jumped on, thats the way combat sports work. it happens. he deserves a rematch, and needs to take things a little slower and keep his head.

He may fight anyone anywhere, but that doesn't mean shit to me other than he's an idiot. Yeah..sure he beat the shit out of guys on his youtube fights, but c'mon. Isn't really fair when your fighting some fat unskilled morons.

Even the few fights he's had in MMA were against old washups. Like I said..put him in the cage with someone credible and he's got nothing, and until he gets in there with someone that is credible and wins i'll continue to refer to him as a bitch. Look at his last fight, it was pathetic.

I've actually trained in MMA for about 8 years. Although I know I'm a bit rusty. Having a kid and getting married put all that on the back burner. Not to mention my businesses.

What?

He got hit in the left eye which cut him above and below the eye.

The punch doesn't look like much, but if you watch the slo-mo reply you'll see that it connected solidly and snapped Kimbo's head back.

Kimbo came leaning in, hand to his sides like he normally does and ready to throw his haymaker hooks.

He was definitely stunned and Seth did the right thing in pouncing on him until the ref stopped the fight.

Seth won that fight far and square and proved what most real MMA fans already knew.

Kimbo is/was a hype machine and would eventually get exposed.

and miplank, surely if you trained in mma, you would realise to respect kimbo, as i believe any man that is willing to step into a ring/cage with another man to see who is the better fighter deserves respect, not to be called a bitch.

I respect the fact that he gets in the ring. I just get frustrated with all the hype that surrounds him. Does that make sense?

I'm not saying i'm better than anyone. I'm just sayin'
 
im not having a go at you, im just an awkward f**ker, you know what im like. to be honest, i dont understand the whole deal with kimbo, as i live in england, so there is no kimbo hype over here, obviously.
i have watched a load of his street fights, in which he looked like a tidy little fighter, but as you say, those opponents are probably not even amatuer boxers, let alone professional mixed martial artists.
but at the end of the day, yeah, so he is not a master technician, but he is tough as hell and has balls, i respect anyone who is a better fighter than me, actually anyone who is willing to get into the ring at all i think deserves respect, whether i like them or not.

Now I haven't been in an actual "fight" in a long time. Like I said...my son changed a lot of things in my life (no regrets), but there was a time in my life where i'd fight anyone, anywhere, anytime. Some of the time for the stupidest reasons.

I remember getting into it with some guy that was probably in his 40's when I was 20 or 21 outside a movie theater. Guy kept making comments under his breath about me, and I heard him. And that was all it took. All over because he didn't like the hat I was wearing. I don't know what was wrong with this guy, other than he reaked of booze. I think he learned his lesson though. Oh...and the girl I was with at the time wasn't happy about it. meh..oh well she was a whore.

Damn..that was like one of ariels rants. :D
 
yeah, i can totally understand that. having a kid would change your perspective on things, you no longer only have yourslef to worry about, you have to stay well and in one piece to be able to look after them. a lot fo people dont understand this, but i like fighting. i come from a very rough place, and grew up around violence. it was fuck or get fucked. you had to learn to handle yourself or you would get eaten alive.
plus, there is something very primal about fighting-you never feel so alive than you do when you are close to death, on the edge so to speak. it is a rush that normal suit and boots office worker types cannot even imagine.
my tolerance is a lot better these days, i would rather laugh and move on than break some guys face for looking at me funny nowadays, plus i wouldnt want to throw my career down the pan because i got caught street fighting.
