Backstage Antics.
After so many years in the off center sport of bodybuilding I have accumulated a lot of very funny memories along the way. The following are a few of these more memorable moments!
At the 2002 USA Championships in Las Vegas I was backstage on Saturday night just milling about helping Rita out when I could with pumping up and oil and what not. I was going to be going out for my 15 seconds of fame at the night show as I did not make the cut. (Standing between Troy Alves and Marcus Haley did not help me at all!) I digress! As Rita was putting on her final touches (she always does much better than I at competitions!) I had a woman ask me if I would help her with her oil. I said of course I would. So I start spraying and patting down the Pam she was using when I get to her …well her very, very humongous boobs! I mean just huge! I stop as I am a gentleman and ask if she wants me to get her jumbles as well? She informed me that in bodybuilding there is no room for modesty honey! Get em’! I did as instructed! Poor me! Rita meanwhile is laughing her ass off at all this.
Now that was pretty funny but here is where it gets awesome! It is about 2 weeks later and I am on Elite Fitness looking around, making sure everyone was doing what he or she were supposed to and not what they were not. (I was a Moderator there.) So I come across this post: “hey guys look at this video of this female bodybuilder!” or something to that effect. So I click on the thread and there is a link to a video clip. I was like “Cool!” So I click….and low and behold here is the girl I oiled up at USA’s..The one I asked if I should put Pam on her boobies. She is just getting railed and doing all the stuff they do in hard-core porn…ALL OF IT! Was actually pretty hot! I call Rita in to see it and she is laughing at me for asking about the oil when the girl does this for a living! Irony!
Cannot remember what show I was judging but I remember looking up at this poor fellow on stage that is standing there with a look of total confidence on his face. He really did have a nice physique and was for sure in the top 3 in his class. Now you wonder why I say “poor fellow” I would imagine. The reason I say that is as I look up I cannot figure what is wrong with his waistline. That is when it hits me! He has his trunks on side ways! His leg was through the waist hole ands his waist was through the leg the seam in front was kinda diagonal! I excused myself after the ¼ turn round and told the head judge to wait a second. I went backstage and told the dude about his “situation”. He said “Holy Shit!” And proceeded to remove his trunks and put them on correctly…bent over ass toward about 25 Figure-A girls! I lost it!
I was laying on the floor with my feet up on a chair backstage at the 1996 Mr. Indianapolis resting my eyes and my legs! It was a very long day as I left from Cincinnati at 4:30 am. It’s about 10:00pm and I am starving to death and I did not bring enough food, as I did not expect such a long day. So I am lying there trying to just chill when I smell what I think is a pizza! I do not open my eyes but I voice my displease with “who the hell brought a pizza back here! I have another show in 2 weeks and I am starving now as it is!” A competitor who just came off stage said " Sorry! It’s not pizza man. It’s me. I say “WHAT?” He said, “Its garlic oil man…I thought it was Olive oil! So he smeared garlic oil all over his body rather than just ask to use someone else’s oil! I told him he was going to smell for a week! The things folks will do at shows are always just so funny to me and this is one of the reasons I love the sport as much as I do. There is always a story to tell.
