I saw Paradise Lost on HBO years ago, over 10 years, and I figured that the kids in the film would be let out anytime, the film pretty much laid out play by play how these kids were totally fucked by this hype and frenzy that set in this small town.

These kids lives will never be the same, they can't get back what has been taken from them. I really think its embarassing for the country that this can happen within our borders.

Anyway, I recently re-visted the story and was shocked to learn that all three are still in prison, with one in solitary confinement and still on death row.

This is all despite the fact that there is zero physical evidence whatsoever to link them to ANYTHING in the case. Truly sad. I give money to their defense fund as a show of my support.

I'm more embarassed that we allow child molesters to roam free, kids to be gunned down in neighborhoods, schools to pump out kids that can't even spell, 4,000 young men are dead and no one gives a shit, and grandpa's that die because they can't receive the simplest of surgeries since they're deemed useless now in life.

And instead, we focus on Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.

THAT is what's embarassing.

I actually think its because they come from super poor family backgrounds and a really country bumpkin style town. No one really cares, but to these guys its their lives. Really sucks.

I'm not sure how that is related to this thread, but thank you for your thoughts. There are plenty of things not right in this world, plenty of things to get angry with. They are not mutually exclusive.

Some things are just not feasible.

I could have gone to any number of expensive private schools for college, I didn't, why? I could not afford it. I'm 17 years old making these decisions man, how am I supposed to foot the bill for a 30,000 per year school!
