NEW SARMS S-4 LOG!!!! - For the MMA Fighter

rospina

New member
After a few weeks of pretty intensive research I decided to order a bottle of Sarms S-4 from the forum sponsor “sarms search.” I was pleased to find several reviews/logs, as well as scientific journal articles; this was quite useful since I had never heard of the product and feared that there would be little information about it. As an amateur MMA fighter, my main goals are to increase strength, improve anaerobic (mainly) and aerobic conditioning, and improve recovery time. I am most concerned with improving performance rather than weight gain/loss, decreasing body fat, etc.

I will be taking two 50 mg doses a day on Mon, Tues, Thurs, & Fri. I will only take one dose on Wed, which is the only day where I only have one workout. I am 24 years old, 5’7” and weigh about 155 lbs. I cut down to 139 lbs for grappling tournaments, and 145 lbs. for MMA. I was around 9% body fat the last time I checked which was about a month or two ago.

The only supplements I will be taking aside from Sarms are whey protein, and Omega-3’s. I also eat a clean and healthy diet (~2800-3000 calories a day)

My morning (usually between 8-9 am) workouts consist of strength and conditioning:
Monday – Upper body strength/power
Tuesday – Sled/Prowler circuit
Thursday – Full body circuit
Friday – Lower body strength/power

Evening training (around 5:30-6:00 pm) consists of technique drilling and sparring. The schedule changes daily and the focus shifts between MMA and Nogi grappling.

I took my first dose this morning before my prowler/sled circuit, and it felt as if I could push harder through the workout than I normally could. I also usually feel drained by the time I have to train in the evening, but I did not have that problem today. In fact, I finished today’s training session (2 hrs long) and decided to jog 2 miles afterwards. I’m not sure if this is an acute effect from Sarms, or if it’s a placebo effect, but I normally don’t have the gas to workout for that long at that intensity. Regardless, I’m excited to see where I’ll be at within a month!!!

I will keep updating this thread 2 to 3 times a week, and will also post some numbers in regards to my strength training. Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions! Enjoy!

Hey bro, thanks for running the log...that dose is pretty high.

I would drop it to 50mgs a day and split the dose up 25mg and 25mgs. 100mgs ed is to much IMO.

Great point, I'd maybe throw in some Billberry, for vision.

Thanks for logging.

I will drop the dosage to a split dose like you said, thanks for the advice. I was also wondering, I only have one workout on Wed's, should I take 50 mg before the workout or still split it up into 2 separate doses?

Cory, I'm going to get some billberry as soon as I get off work today, I haven't had any visions problems yet, but why start right? Thanks again!

I feel like spitting it up may be the best since its only about a 4 hour half life if I remember correctly. I cant believe this stuff isnt wildly popular in MMA yet.

Just thought I'd give a quick update on how everything has been going thus far. First off, I def had one of the best nights during practice last night. Wed nights are serious where I train...it's headgear night! And is easily the hardest night of the week. 10 min wrestling drills, 10 minute "live" wrestling (a new opponent every 2 min) no break in between rounds, 3 x 5 kickboxing with clinch/takedowns (16 oz gloves) - 1 min break in between rounds, 3 x 5 min MMA/clinch fighting with small gloves - 1 min break in btwn rounds, 2 x 10 min grappling with strikes where each opponent is on the bottom for one 10 min round (oh yea, and 1 min break in btwn rounds).
Pretty rough, especially when the majority of the ppl i'm surrounded by are pro's of much higher caliber than myself. Let's just say it's a struggle to get through everyday. Regardless, I still got tired, I think that is unavoidable. But I did notice that I was able to push the pace much more, and I could keep pushing the pace when I felt EXHAUSTED. And I don't think any placebo effect can be that strong!!

So yesterday marked my fourth day on s4, and it has not been disappointing thus far! I have found myself pushing harder when sparring, and I feel stronger when in the clinch and on the ground (pretty much any position that involves any sort of isometric resistance). One thing I have noticed is that I am exhausted at night after my workouts, but this makes sense since I have been pushing my body past it's usual limits. I have not been experiencing any of the visual side effects, so thanks again cory and chemwiz for the advice.

I did a lower body strength workout yesterday, but it was the beginning of a new microcycle, so it was a deloading workout. None of my lifts were above 60% of my 1RM. Deadlifts will be the focus strength/power exercise for lower body workouts for the next 4 weeks (last month was front squats). The other exercises that will be performed after that will focus on auxiliary muscle groups/stabilizers for muscle balance and injury prevention. The last time I maxed out on DL's 275 lbs was my 1RM (i know i'm weak, lol, don't remind me!). Hopefully I'll surpass that number soon, because I've been stuck here for quite some time.

All in all I'm enjoying s4 so far, I can't wait till tuesday, prowler circuits are on the menu and I'm curious to see if s4 will have any effect on my HR and my power output. I will be taking today and Sun off of training (with the exception of light cardio) and s4.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

great log...How long have you been training? You more of a stand up guy or a ground guy? How about Silva last night...wow, wrestling does work. haha

Yeah, sarms is seems tailor made for MMA fighters and endurance style athletes.

I was going to wait until tonight to post both of my workouts, but I simply couldn't wait. This morning's workout was an upper body strength/power workout. I recently started incorporating DB Bench press into my routine again, and this is my second week doing so. To my surprise, I was able to lift 85 lb DB's on incline BP, for 5 reps, and still felt like I had a cpl more left in me. That's INSANE for me!! I've never pushed that much weight in my LIFE. I know that may not seem like much weight to many on this forum, but i'm only about 155 lbs, and like i said before I've never lifted that kind of weight with dumbells before. What makes it even crazier is that I went almost a year without doing any chest exercises because I had shoulder surgery last year.

My strength increased in most of my lifts today, but that is what stuck out the most. I still have not had any visual side effects, but I've also made sure to always wear my sunglasses when it's sunny outside, and I keep them on until I'm inside closed doors. I'm looking forward to tonight's training session, this is def the most aggressive I have felt in a long, long, long time!

Thanks man, and you're right it's amazing how much more endurance i have especially during the evening training sessions. I've been training for approx 3 years, and my strength is def my boxing, followed by jits. I was originally better on the ground, but I began to focus more on boxing/kickboxing since I had shoulder surgery recently...boxing hurts it less than grappling.

I've always said that a 185 lb St. Pierre (basically, a world class wrestler) could beat Silva, which is why I personally though Chael had a legitimate chance of winning. Too bad he's always had a bad habit of getting caught in guard submissions. Should be an interesting rematch if they get it, I still think Chael can win. However, Silva is def a beast, and I wouldn't be surprised if remains the middleweight champ until he retires.

Nice logs mate .

Any night vision problems .

Brad.

Thanks man. I've been training for approx 3 years. My strength is in my boxing, and bjj. Wrestling is def where I am weakest. And you're def right, I've been getting stronger, but I also see a HUGE improvement in my cardio.

I've always said that a superior wrestler with decent stand up can beat Silva, and I actually thought that Sonnen had a really good chance of taking the fight. Unfortunately he's always had a thing for diving into triangles and armbars. I would def love to see an instant rematch.

How about you? Do you train? If so, what's you're style?

I am a ground guy, started wrestling in high-school and college and now I go A LOT of grappling. Love to watch the stand up wars but do not like to engage in them:mix:

Glad you are enjoying the sarms s4.

Sorry for the delay with the updates, let's just say it's been a VERY hectic week. Today marks the second week that I have been on s4. I'm still taking two 30 mg doses a day, Mon-Fri, and I take off Sat and Sun. My ability to pressure and push the pace during my evening training sessions keeps improving.

I just finished a lower body strength workout. Deadlifts are still the focus power exercise in this routine, and will be for 3 more weeks including this one (4 x 5, @75% 1RM). Once again, the strength gains astonish me. 2 months ago, or so, my 1 RM was 275. Today I lifted 255 lbs on my last set of 5. Mathematically, that means my 1 RM is around 285-290 lbs, according to the Brzycki equation: 1RM = Weight / ( 1.0278 - (0.0278 x number of repetitions )). Keep in mind, I do not consider a rep successful if I break my form, so those were 5 reps with PERFECT form. Once again, I'm not strong, so 255 for 5 reps is a lot for my little 150 lb frame!

Not sure how truly accurate that is, since it is a prediction equation. Next week will be 4 x 5,5,3,3. I will test my 1 RM in two week from today.

I haven't really been keeping up with any changes in my body composition, but I've had several ppl tell me that I'm looking bigger and leaner than I usually do. Not sure if it's true, but I'll take it! More than anything, I am extremely satisfied, and have already exceeded my expectations in regards to strength and cardio gains.

After a week full of traveling, work, stress, and lack of sleep, I can finally take a day off and take it easy! I don't know how I managed to fit in my workouts into my schedule this week, but I managed to get it done and am still seeing results! I was really surprised to see any gains this week, I figured I would either plateau or even diminish since I have been getting little to no rest, wihle still training at the same intensity that I have been for the past cpl of weeks.

I've seen several gains in different areas, but the most impressive was my lower body workout again. I am on week 3 of deadlifts, and this week was a 85% 1RM day. So I basically did a 3 rep max as my final lift (after 4 sets). My 1 RM (100%) was 280 back in early July. On Friday I lifted 275 lbs 4 times, it was supposed to be a 3 RM, but I still felt like I had some left in the tank after the final rep, so I decided to go for one more. Even though that's not anything super impressive for most people, it is def INCREDIBLE for me!

I could def tell the lack of rest was taking a bit of a toll on me though, I felt more winded than usual during my evening MMA training, to the point where I was being sloppy when I shouldn't have been. I still finished all of the workouts, and never stopped pushing or coming forward; at least it tested my heart!

Luckily this will be a MUCH easier week than the last. Can't wait to finally test my 1RM (deadlifts) on Friday! Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend!

Excellent log!
I too feel MMA and endurance athletes can benefit from Sarms and even if tested just make sure to give it a week or two to clear off your system before testing. Half life of S-4 is of 4 hours and 24 days for Ostarine.

Good job keeping up with the log...I predict you're going to pull 325+ on Friday if you get your food and sleep right!

That woudl def be awesome, and I have never pulled that much weight before on a deadlift. We'll see though, according to 1 RM prediction equations (Brzycki equatinon), my 1 RM should be 300 lbs. Either way, can't wait till Friday to find out!

On another note, my cardio was insane last night during training. 5 x 5 min rounds of padwork followed by 10 x 3 min sparring rounds (just boxing, we were actually taking it easy tonight) on 30 seconds rest. Even though it was a much lighter workout than we normally have, I was very happy with the pace I maintained for every round.

How did it go?

So all I can say is that THIS **** IS INSANE!!! I have never been able to deadlift 290 lbs in my life, and I was able to lift 315 for a 1 RM! It's crazy that this **** isn't a steroid or hormone. Yesterday marked the end of the 4th week I've been taking s4, and it has def exceeded my expectations thus far. I'm the strongest I've ever been in my life, my cardio has improved ten fold, and my libido is through the freakin' roof!! I feel like I'm ****in 17 again!!

Now my question is, how should I cycle on and off this? 4 weeks on 4 weeks off? Or should I finish the bottle? Any recommendations/suggestions?

I just delt with getting off and I already miss it. Im doing the whole 4 on 4 off. These 4 weeks off are creeping bye.

why 4wks on/off...fear of the unknown?

due to some schedule/delivery issues on some other supp's, i'm trying out the s-4 (on day 4 now). not sure if it's placebo effect or maybe just having fun in training, but i really feel like i'm seeing some endurance increase.

after trying a million otc supp's (and spending a ton of dough), i'm skeptical of nearly everything except the real deal (although i've yet to run a cycle). i'm anxious to see if s-4 is also the real deal!!

thanks for running the log. i'll try to start one myself.

keep on keepin' on fellas!

Sarms s4 is the real deal and you will feel it kick in fast, so that's not placebo that you are feeling.

Do you keep the strength after the cycle of s4 ? and just to be safe any PCT after (i know you don't need it but just in case)
Thanks in advance and respect to all of you!!!

Sorry if i'm hijacking your thread, I'm not trying to. I just have some questions about SARMS that I'm guessing would be answered the fastest here.

Any negative side effects?

Do you only take this ON workout days?

Do you take it before your workout? How long?

What do you mix it with?

How many bottles would be needed for a decent cycle

Any PCT needed with this?

you need one bottle run it at 50mgs a day, everyday for 4 weeks.

I take it straight, no mixing.

Yep, you can use it with a thermo fat burner, no PCT nedded.

Sorry for the delay on posting, I've was out of town all last week and did not have access to the internet, nor time to sit down and post. I had to go to Florida to corner of my training partners who was coming off a bit of a losing streak. The good news is that he dominated, winning the the fight by KO in the first round

Either way, last week was my first week off s4 (since I had been on for 4 weeks). First thing that I must say is that I HAVE NOT experienced any shutdown, nor am I taking any test boosters nor estrogen blockers. I do not have the bloodwork to confirm this, but I'm pretty sure I would notice any shutdown at all.

I have also retained my strength gains which I was not only surprised to see, but very happy about! I can still bust out 75 lb dumbells (DB Bench press) for 6-8 reps and still have some left in the tank. I couldn't even do that prior to taking the product. I most definitely got stronger, and leaner for that matter. My weight didn't vary a whole lot, but I would be willing to bet that my body comp changed. My pants def feel a little looser, so I think i burned some of the annoying fat that used to sit around my waistline. I noticed some physical changes, but I guess it wasn't as noticeable to me since I see myself in the mirror everyday, but a friend of mine couldn't have said it any better, "You are the biggest, and skinniest that you've ever been since I've known you!" Def made me feel good about myself!!!

My cardio still feels great, and I can def tell that I had no loss in my cardio after coming off of s4. My libido is def still great, not quite as high as it was when I was taking the product, but I didn't remember it being like that since i was in high school. This also, IMO, confirms that I have not experienced any shutdown at all. All in all, I am very very very VERY OVERLY satisfied with s4. I will def take it again without thinking twice about it. In fact, I still have some left and cannot wait to start back up again within 2 weeks.

Expect me to log about my next experience, I can't wait to see where this stuff can take me physically. Thank you for keeping up with my logs, and for the feedback. Keep the sub though, because I will be posting on this log when I begin to finish off the rest of the bottle.

As i said in my previous post, sorry for the delayed response, traveling and work can make things a bit complicated. In response to your questions:

1. The only negative side effect others have experienced (and i did mildly) was visual, I would see some spots when I'd go from a bright environment into a dark one. I found out that dosage influences this, so all i did was taper down the dosage, and it never happened again. (it only happened once).

2. I took this supplement on my workout days, monday through friday, twice a day. Once before each workout, and each dosage was about 30 mg

3. I would take it between 30-60 min before my workout, it has a 4 hr half life so I found it best to take it that way.

4. I took it straight, but beware, it tastes AWFUL, but i could care less about that.

5. One bottle lasted me a full 4 weeks (at two 30 mg doses per day, 5 days per week). I still have a little less than half of the bottle left over, so i'm taking 4 weeks off, and will start back up until i finish it off

6. I did not take any PCT afterwards, and this is my second week off it. I have not experienced any shutdown at all, and still feel great. Of course i don't feel as good as i did when i was on it, but i don't feel like crap either, it just feels like i'm not taking a regular supplement anymore. Def not the way one would feel after taking a cycle of test or any other 'roid for that matter.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have anymore questions.

One of the better logs I have read.

I want this guy to do a osta-sarm log.

Me too.

You know I did read about the S-4 being detectable and still do not know if that was a fact or just rumors but I am sure there is test for osta-sarm ( yet ) so I can see MMA fighters benefiting from osta-sarm as to me I consider it a "true performance enhancer" in every aspect.
