Hi guys,
I've been doing preacher curls for a while now. They are the main exersize for my bicep routine. I usually go heavy on them, right now I can do a nice slow 8 reps with a 60 pound ez curl barbell. Is this good?....I am 16 yrs old....155 lbs..about 6 foot...skinny frame

thats pretty good. i would implement some standing straight bar as your primary. i normally do straight bar, then preachers then overhand. by the end of that i pretty much done. 60 lbs is good, i wouldnt stress much on what you can lift in that exercise. though a good isolation exercise, its been known to give some bodybuilders problems. not me but some.

Hi again garza...About 6 months ago I built a preacher bench myself...but it had a fault in it and as a result I have bad elbows....but I manage!

Anyways...I think preachers are great...I used to do them before my elbows got bad and I made awsome gains.

So my advice to you would to keep on doing them....just watch your elbows for any sign of injury or strain on them!.

Ouch, I use the one at the gym. Its padded and works really good. Never had any elbow problems. But, what do you think about 60 pounds? is that pretty good for me?

weight shouldn't matter on isolation movement, such as preacher curl! try to concentrate on movement, mind-muscle connection, and intensity!
Don't sacrifice form!

happy training

Hmmmmmm, "Are you a good preacher?"

How would I know, I've never been in church with you. hehehe

But seriously, you have a good preacher! Don't be so concerned with the weight though, concentrate more on your form. Once you get that down, the weight will take off!
