I feel like it is working my arms more than my delts. My hands are about 12 inches apart and i raise it all the way to my nose.

I have my hands almost together and feel significant tension on my delts/traps. Also, I use an ez-curl bar... thats what works for me, try and if it doesn't work, try something else.

When doing upright rows, you might be squeezing the bar too hard. This will activate your biceps more! Also, keep your elbows up when doing the exercise. This will put more emphasis on your delts and traps.

Moe...use the easy-curl bar
let the bar hang slightly in your fingers and tighten your grip as you raise the bar to your chin..raising it to your nose does nothing you should feel it in your traps first and foremost and in your delts secondarily slow your reps down, keep your back straight and squeeze the delt at the top.

Moe,
why are you even bothering with upright rows?
If you want to build the traps do shrugs and deadlifts,if your trying to build the delts do presses and flys. These excersises are more direct and mechanically safer and more comfortable.Anyone with any sort of shoulder problem's should not do this excersise, its hard on the rotator cuff.Good luck.
