My chest is the only body part, that tends to flatten out and soften, when i train it only 1x per week, and no matter how many sets, how hard i train, how heavy i go, my chest recovers very, very, very, rapidly, notice how many x's i said very, its only sore for 2 days...i think i have that type of body that i can train chest 2x per week, one day 4-5 sets of incline, and 4 sets 6-10reps of flats the next session....spacing my chest workouts 72-96 hours apart...what can you guys say about this?
thanx

oh ya, my diet is perfecto.

If you really want to do your chest twice a week, I would do that every other week for a while. Your chest muscles may be able to handle the workout but watch out for shoulder problems.

Go ahead and work your chest twice a week! I have the same problem, once a week is not enough. But only train your shoulders once a week. If you do any more for shoulders, you could overtrain them. And on your second chest day, do different exercise to shock the muscles.

Use the SHIP principle when training

Train...........................(S)mart
Train...........................(H)ard
Train with.....................(I)ntensity
Train with.....................(P)urpose

I do chest, shoulders and back twice a week. I see results too. I do not have a light day either. I feel that you either have to lift heavy or go home. I also feel that intensity as well as good form plays a huge role in gaining mass. I think you could even do more sets than that on chest day. I know I do and I am doing just fine.

incline
6x5
Dumbbel flat bench
4x8 to 10
Bar flat bench
3x6 to 8
flyes
2x9 to 11

Hit it hard, quick and get out.

What do you guys think about hammer as aposed to barbell, and dumbell?

I get a killer pump of hammer, but does it actually build as well.

I work everything with less than a week between.
I work 5 days on, 1 day off. So it's 6 days rather than a week.
But on arm day, I do pump sets for chest and shoulders.. nothing heavy... just get it pumped. And on chest and shoulders day, I pump arms.
5 sets of 12-15 slow, concentrated reps. Pumps it up, feels good. Doesn't work it too hard. Still ready to go by the next heavy work day.

davidg, hammers are a great excercise and they do build good too. At least I think so. I do them just about every time I hit arms.

papi what is wrong with you dont you know your missing ribose.thats your problem. i urge you to run to your local gnc and buy 10
boxes of eas ribo force..than my man, we are talking results..
just kidding bro..why dont you try diffrent
training methods, complete new routines, all db or all bb..pullovers,high reps low reps,
once a week is fine for everybody, you just havent found your thang yet.working chest too much will destroy your rotator cuffs and front delts.give your body a break!..
its too much wear and tear for your body..
why dont you post your routine and we can see whats wrong..

Dude, i am definitly a supporter of benching twice a week. but you totally have to space them out. i normally do, day one 8-10 reps for 4 sets of medium to light weight then on the 2nd bench day i do 8 sets of 2 reps at weight with a slight pause at the bottom. it has worked wonders. i don't know what im going to name it yet though
