When I do SLDL's I can't seem to isolate the hams. I always feel the stretch at the back of my knees instead of the back of my legs. I do them infront of a mirror so my form is good, i don't know what i'm doing wrong. And which is better for hitting hams curls or SLDL's? IP: Logged |

SLDL are, in my opinion, hit them harder, but both should be utilized. I isolate them more by keeping my back arched and bending over with my knees bent a little. I get more of a stretch this way. As I pull the weight up, I concentrate on my hams and moving my hips forward a little. I stop about 2/3 the way up before my lower back really kicks in. Use a light weight and practice isolating the hamstrings. Once you find the groove, you should be able to hit 'em hard. IP: Logged |

When doing them let the bar travel an inch away from your legs almost touching your legs.Start off when lifting the bar off the ground by thinking of pushing yourself into the ground as you bring the bar up to a little above your knee's then pull with your back.Do it slow.May have to drop the weight. I recomended in another post about trying sldl's with dumbbells instead of a barbell. It might not sound like all that much of a difference but trust me...u'll deffinately feel the difference!! Just do them the same way you would with a barbell. Good luck! IP: Logged |
