I was wondering about this workout style. lets use arms. it is like this. lets say monday I work arms, every monday. now what happens manday if I lift heavy below 8 reps heavy then the following monday I lift light and both workouts I go to failure 3 sets after a warm up excercise. will that keep the muscles growing more then normal training (heavy mid or light). I would like to try it but only if I knew results. I know of no person who ever has done this.

When you say light, you just mean higher reps, right? You still say you are going to failure, so it is still going to be taxing your muscles, just differently. I notice myself that I get into the low rep stuff for so long and neglect the high reps. When I finally incorporate some high reps in I get a killer burn. I think it is good to use both. I like to follow my warmups with my heaviest weight for low reps. Then for my last set, I sometimes lower the weight and try and double or triple the reps from the heavy set. Also, sometimes I'll do drop or strip sets, which allow you to start heavy, but end up being a high rep set. Just my opinion.

It's good to mix it up like that every once and awhile. Shock those bi's into growth.

I am guessing that it works. I lifted heavy last week so this week I will lift light this week and tomorrow I will post how my workout turns out. it is chest,shoulders, and tri's. I can't wait to see how I get in the long run.
