I always went by 1 body part a week, sometimes two, but usually the soreness of the muscle i worked goes away within 2 two days, after the sorness goes away is the muscle still fully healed, or is it still regrouping, i know the healing time process depends on the bodies genetics, but, would i be damaging muscle tissue if i worked my muscle when the soreness went away? or should i wait untill the week passes? any info will be yery appreciated.

Test this out by tracking if there is a strenght increase in your next workout or intensity.

That's cool Sloan, I'm goign to have to try that. How much of a strength increase should you have? Enough to add 1 or 2 reps?

If you're training for mass and strength you need to use very heavy weights. The heavier weights you use, more muscle fibers are damaged. I recommend that if you train with very heavy weights, to work each body part once every 5 to 7 days. So that's about once a week. I usually do low-medium volume with low reps. 9 sets per major body part and 6 sets for smaller body parts. I use 5-8 reps. Abs and calves can be trained intensely 2 to 3 times a week. If you want to lose body fat, or just to have a toned body, you should use moderate weight with high reps and high sets. 12 sets for major body parts and 9 sets for smaller body parts. For the upper body I usually do 12-15 reps and for the lower body I do 15-20 reps. Sorry for getting off topic. My point is it depends how you train your muscles. If you want to train each body part once per week, go real heavy. If you want to work each body part twice per week, use moderate weight and add more sets and reps. When you're sore, your body is repearing muscle fibers. When all the muscle fibers are repaired, your muscles can be worked again. Just listen to your body. Maybe you'll do better by working each body part twice a week. I, on the other hand get too sore and overtrained when I work each body part more than once a week. Keep lifting. And if you get to the point where you never get sore, you've hit a plateau and that's when you need to change your routine.

Ethertek, yes, see if you can do another rep or if your tracking rest time in between sets see if you can stick to it.IE-4 sets rest time is 60 secs if your lifting hevy enough chances are your gonna need more rest in between,so you can use that as a indicator.
