There's a BB show coming up in October, and i've been forced to take a long hard look at my physique in order to zero in on weak points.After seeing pictures of my back it became obvious that i lack middle thickness.My lats are pretty wide from chins and my lower back is thick from squats and deads.I had been doing rows in the belief that that would thicken my inner middle back but they haven't done the trick.Anybody have the same problem?

yep i had that one to, i used dbrows, undergrip� bb rows and pulldowns with the handle you use for cablerows, and everything really heavy, that helped me.

Dorian rows hit low and mid back excellent exercise.

Steelsoldier, could you explain what Dorian Rows are? I haven't heard of them before.

You probally done them already but they are said to be by Dorian Yates what gave him his impressive spread. Simpley do them like barbell rows but a reverse grip with your arms about shoulder width apart, if done correctly it really hits your mid and lower back hard!

but the "dorian" rows, can be pretty tuff to hit the upper mid back with, but no doubt when learned they are perfect

Bluesy thats true. But if you switch to a overhand grip and bend over more to a 105 degree angle you can hit the upper portion of the back.

thats right steelsoldier, i can do "dorian" rows correct so no prob there, but it took alot of practice, but when you shift to overhand, then its all upper/mid back and quite easy to do, but no longer dorian rows.

You want to hit the rhomboids and the middle and lower traps,rows are good but there are more effective ones.
