Ain't that bad for the knees?

if you do them wrong, you have to make sure that your knees don't go to or past your big toe

I have been doing ass-to-floor squats since I first started squatting, and they have done nothing but good for me. The development in the quads and hamstrings (yes, ATF squats hit the hams too) is incredible. Throw in some ATF front squats periodically as well - they work the quads even better than back squats supposedly.

I had some knee problems last year from various exercise and of course my age(34). I found out the hard way that the knees are not what like they use to be when I was younger, which now limits my range of squating. I now have to stay parallel to the floor. I say if you can squat to the floor great, but just becareful, warm up properly and stretch. As you get older squating range of motion may have to change.

Personally, deep squats are much more comfortable on my knees than parallel. But hey, that's just me.
