Basically, sit ups, you keep your feet on the ground and move to your knees. With crunches you keep your feet off the ground and crunch yourself to meet your knees halfway.

You should definitely be feeling the pain when you do abs... For me its the most painful burn in my workout, and often times I get a little dizzy right afterwards (from all the blood constricting into my middle and away from my head). When crunching don't put your feet down.

ARE U SURE?!?!?!?
I looked at www.workout.com
They don't show how to do sit ups but
they show how to do crunches and they say to keep feet on ground.
WHat do u think more effective,
doing one set of crunches - 75 reps
or doing 3 sets of crunches - each set 20 reps?

put your feet in the air and you will hit the lower abs more. feet flat on the ground, upper section. there is more than one way do do a crunch. just concentrate on squeezing the abs and those mother fuckers should burn like hell.

I believe crunches are better than sit ups. When I do crunches I feel direct tension in my abs, but when I do sit ups I feel it mostly in my hip flexors.
