From my experience, no! Some times I will go as low as 6, but usually 8-10. I believe they respond better to reps in this range.

Personally I have to do 8-12 rep ranges on isolation work like curls. Try supporting your back against a wall or post and then do your curls. I think you will be amazed at how much more effective of a workout it will be because you will not be able to use ANY momentum to get the weight moving!!

My best Bi workouts come from doing a combination of movements with varied reps. However, I stimulate my bi's the most by repping out 50% my max weight until failure on the preacher-curl machine, then with a spot I try to with the best of my ability get five nice and controlled negative movements. It isolates and shocks the hell out of both heads of my bi.

Since isolation routines are not part of the basic mass builing routines I have always found the ranges should be higher and since I started doing 8-12 reps on curls my biceps have responded very well.

This is a great question. Ive asked this same question of several local bros. Everyone seems to have their own answer as to what worked for them. I truely beleive that everyones body reacts differently. Most do say higher reps seem to work better for biceps. Ive tried higher reps with minimal gains. Ive come up with my own. Everyone I asked seem to swear by 7's, 21's whatever you want to call them. EZ Curl bar, 7 @ bottom, 7 @ top and then 7 full curls. I tried this for about 2 mths with minimal gains. I go by the Yates's rule, to grow, you gotta move the most pounds you can. Go'n by this rule I decided to load up the EZ curl bar. Before you do this make sure you warm them up very well. Ill load it with enough weight so I can only knock out about 4 to 6 reps @ the bottom and 4 to 6 reps @ the top (1st set, by the 4th I may only be able to do 2 or 3), then Ill jump to the cable machine wich is set with a little lighter weight and do one arm curls to failure, about 6 to 8 reps. Ill do 4 sets of this. Ill then burn them out with the overhead curls on the cable machine and then reverse curls using a rope on the cable machine. I started this about a month ago and gains have been awsome. Hope this helps.
