Any suggestions on some exercises to thicken and widen the back? No wide grip pulls ups, kills my shoulder.

Do Deadlifts, Barbell rows, one-arm dumbell rows, and front pulldowns. Do a total of about 15 sets.

My current workout does not involve wide grip pull downs because they really ache my shoulders. I am currently doing:

close grip pull downs to chest (2 warmup 1 set)
bentover bb rows (2)
single arm hammer grip cable rows (2)
seated cable rows (2)
overhead cable pullovers (1)(nautilus I think?)
deadlifts (2)
hyperextensions (2)
