Has anyone ever used a verticle leg press before as an exercise in leg workouts? If so, what did you think.

Stay away from them. They are not safe. Use a leg press that has an angle. Everyone that I've ever known who has done verticle leg presses have knee probablems.

i tried this one and felt it put excessive stain on my back, the leg press is no substitute for squats. If you are getting bored with the 8-10 rep back squat, try changing to the 20 rep squat, its a killer and a real challange. The guideline is take a weight you can do 10-12 reps with, and do twenty!.Or maybe front squats with a lighter weight, straight after your normal set of squats, another killer.

Thanks guys, I was looking at this type of leg press to include with my leg workout. Squats have always, and will always, be apart of my routine. Since that orginal post, I have tried them and found they are good after doing squats. However, as MaxMuscle stated, I can feel if the press go to low it could put a lot of stress of the knees.

My old gym had a verticle leg press... Shittiest piece of equipment I ever used. It hurt my knees like a bitch and I felt the weight in my knees and lower back more than my legs. Use the angle like the other guys say.
