Is there anything specific that should be done prior to a cycle?

Prior to a cycle you should have been working out at least 3 years and be over the age of 21! You should make sure that you have all the protein and vitamins you'll need! You should make sure that you have all the AS that you will need to complete the cycle to include things like nolvadex and clomid. You should plan out a good cycle! And then you are good to go!

MOST IMPORTANT - IS TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND TO HAVE PLANS FOR WORK OUTS AND EATING. BE SURE TO HAVE CONTINGENCY PLANS WITH REGARD TO ALL ASPECTS- YOUR WORKOUT PLANS MIGHT BE TOO STRENUOUS OR NOT STRENUOUS ENOUGH- BE PREPARED TO MAKE ADJUSTMENT BOTH THERE AND IN YOUR DIET.

MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE GOT YOUR SHIT TOGETHER- NOTHING IS WORSE THAN HAVING PERSONAL PROBLEMS DURING A CYCLE OR HAVING TO INTERRUPT IT FOR ANY REASON- IE GOING ON SPRING BREAK AND DRINKING HEAVILY DURING CYCLE- this not only diminishes the results of cycle it also may lead to increased side effects.
GETTING YOUR PERSONAL, SOCIAL, SCHOOL/WORK LIFE TOGETHER IS KEY PRIOR TO STARTING A PRODUCTIVE CYCLE-it is true that getting all these together may not be possible, just try and you will be happier with your results.

Both are outstanding answers, and I think this was a good question as well. Often we forget to do some of these very same things ourselves. Taking the gear is easy, it's everything else that's a bitch.
