OK IF THEY ARE GLASS VIAL OBVIOUSLY NO! BUTIF THEY ARE ONES WITH THE RUBBER TOP AND THE ALUMINUM THEN CHANCES ARE YES! THEY CAN SOUND OFF, BUT DEPENDS WHERE THEY ARE PLACED.. HMMM I HAVE TO GET BACK TO YOU ON THAT, I WANT TO KNOW MYSELF!

I do not believe that they would set it off. It would be around the same amount of metal as a SMALL belt buckle. I just went through a metal detector at the court house and it did not go off. Remember that there is not all that much metal if they are fairly seperated.

BROS I ASSUME YOUR TALKING ABOUT AN AIRPORT, IF SO MOST OF THE TIME YES ,IT DEPENDS ON HOW THEY ARE SET, I WENT THRU DFW. LAST WEEK AND FOUR NICKELS SET THE THING OFF!!!!!!!!!!!

No, in 92 I brought back some test cyp in a 10cc multidose with a metal cap and plastic flip off. Very few bottles are made out of the enough metal that will cause the detectors to go off. Be careful. You are probably better off with amps, but I know people that go through, and I have never heard of the metal detectors going off because of a couple of vials. Its still a chance it could, but back in the day I used to bring them across for my personal use and not once did the detectors ever go off. Would'nt take the chance these days. I got too much to lose. You should be ok as long as you dont get greedy and try to bring too many back at once.

Hey if your going through the airport, put the gear in your carry on bag. No reported problems there. Do not put needles in the bag though put thoses in your suit case.

Got a metal plate and four screws in my right hand that never set them off. I doubt amps will. But as they say, "Better safe then sorry".

Better safe than sorry, if no metal on them can't set them off. Don't put in any carry on luggage since it goes through the xray machine. Any one with a 1/2 ounce of brains would figure out those shapes.

LivinBig is correct in that they have a wide range of settings for metal detection. They also have a big range on the quality of machine. Some can pick out gold stitching while others are not able to go to that degree. Ever use one of them hand held units like you see folks on the beach looking for coin, watches, etc. Well go look at them online and read about the "features" they have and it will give you a better idea for how they all work.

p.s. But soon fellas, (and of course ladies) them new walk through x-ray scaners will be EVERYWHERE... Mark my words, they will be SOP at every international airport.
