My girlfriend recently did a cycle of deca at 25mg to 50mg per week for 6 weeks. At the end her voice starting to become scratchy. The bad thing is that she used to have such a beautiful singing voice and now she cant hit most of the high notes. Is there anything that can be done or is she just screwed? ------------------     | ||

she has been off for about 1 month. It started right at the end of her 6 week cycle. We really didn't think it would effect her much as such low dosages and the short time. | ||

Well, guy, after one month, I think things are not looking good.... This is exactly the problem with women, ya never fricking know how one roid will effect a lady.... Hell, it a shitty roll of the dice. Even I would have told you that this amount is not that high and very little sides would result. Other than my normal warning of deca cause it does build up during a cycle with it's long half life.... ------------------ Lobo | ||

Oops. Deca was trialed briefly as a drug to prevent osteoporosis. It was discontinued for this purpose, partly because better drugs came along, and partly because even at 100mg every 2 weeks ALL the women developed deepening of the voice after 6 months. Increased facial hair was also a problem for these women. Her voice may get a little better with time, but will probably never be as high as it was. | ||

The same thing happened to me with three injections of Deca, spaced 1.5 weeks apart at 50, 100, 50mg each. I can no longer sing and it really sucks. Over time she may be able to train her voice a little but it will never be the same. The best thing you can do at this point is try to make her feel better by telling her you still love her and nobody else will notice. My boyfriend married me this past weekend even though I can't sing anymore! :-) | ||

I was getting a bit hoarse tright at the end of my last cycle & it went away.....however for the next 1-2 months following I would be singing away in the car & would suddenly get this cracking sound like a 11 year old boy going through puberty.....went away but still happens every so often.....I believe that the hoarseness is the first step in the lengthening- thickening of the vocal chordes....an irreversible side effect....see how she is in a few weeks....if it doesnt go away then I would keep that in mind before she ever does another cycle- its all a matter of what she is willing to sacrifice for some size.... | ||

Get some Aldactone (spira sp?). It has anti-androgenic properties and could help. | ||

I was thinking about putting the GF on some Deca... After reading this I am not going to. She would poision me in my sleep if her voice changed. She would put poop in my food in such a way I would not know till I ate it all. She would yell at me and destroy my car. It would be bad and I could not excape. So I think Ill keep the juice for my greedy self. | ||

Well if taking Deca will deepen the voice, then taking estrogen should make it higher, right? | ||

Not neccesarily, and taking estrogen is not something you want to get into, be you man or woman. Sometimes time will ease virilization symptoms... mabye one of the ladies cn shed some light on this and let us know if theyve had voice deepening and then it went away... | ||
