I wondered if anybody has been on this med. My doctor wants to start me on this but I've heard horror stories about weight gain. My doc and the pharacist assure me that this is not an issue, but every search on the web had people complaining of this. I was thinking about taking St.John's Wort instead. I want to feel better but I can not handle a huge weight gain. My body image is one of my issues to begin with. Can anybody please, please help me.

Paxel, prozac did nothing for me where as Wellbutren (zoloft)worked great. Sam-E from the health food store works very well but it's expensive and if you have health insurance and aren't independantly wealthy I'd just take the script.

I have always been very thin my whole life. My doctor started me on Paxil and every since I have been continuing to gain weight and no matter how much i exercise or change my diet i have not been able to lose the weight. I have been having a very hard time getting off the paxil. I would never suggest it to anyone!

If you're on the BC pill, do not take St Johns Wort. They just released a study a short while ago saying

"ooops! They forgot to mention on the packaging that this makes the birth control pill null and void. Sorry to all you suckers with a bun in the oven now"

now thats a fat I don't want ANYTHING to do with.

Thats interesting kat...I read a study a year or so ago that said St Johns might actually make the egg harder to penetrate...its always so confusing when you have two diametrically opposed studies!! I guess it depends on who is paying for the study??

I have tried both St. John's Wort and Sam-E. I am still taking SAm -E and very happy with it. A little expensive but GNC runs specials on it every once in a while. St. John's Wort will give you a bad reaction if you are in the sun. You can burn alot.
