You should start cycling creatine by consuming 4 servings a day for 5 days. This is how you load creatine. After you load it, you should take 1 or 2 servings a day. I usually do 2 servings. One serving when I wake up and one serving after I workout. When you're on creatine, you get stronger, you have a little more endurance and your muscles look fuller. You may gain 5 to 10 pounds of water weight during weeks 1-3. After you cycle off of creatine, you lose the water weight, but you may actually keep 1 or 2 pounds of muscle. Some people's strength gains decrease. Mostly new people have taken creatine and mistakenly took the water weight as muscle weight. After they cycled off of it, they lost the water weight and thought they lost the muscle they've gained and ended up disappointed. Creatine is good for packing an extra 1-5 pounds of muscle in a 8 week period. Diet and training have more to do with it than supplements. You want to cycle creatine 8 weeks on (including the loading phase) and 4 weeks off. When you start using it again, you should load it. Some people don't even need a loading phase, because they respond so well to creatine. I on the other hand need to, or I don't get the same effects. If you take creatine, you may also get stomach distress. I recommend creatine products from the following brands: Prolab, Universal, Kaizen, Prosource, Met-rx, AST, GEN. Hope this has helped.

I don 't see why loading creatine is dumb. Out of the 5 grams of creatine you consume, 1-3 grams are fully absorbed. Like I said, some people respond well to creatine and some people don't. By loading it for the first five days, your body gets more creatine in it's system. I'm not saying that it's better to load creatine. It's just a suggestion. You may recieve better gains or you may recieve the same amount without loading.

Actually, you don't have to load, but for fast weight and strength gains you should. If you take 5 g daily, after 3-4 weeks, you will have the same amount of creatine in your system as someone who loads for 5 days, it just depends if you want the gains fast or not.
