My girl wants to get one of those electronic scales with electrodes that measure body fat percentage. Are they accurate? I know calipers can be fucked with for different results, but the electrode scale seems like it may work. Anybody know? ------------------ IP: Logged |

They are worthless, unless you get a high quality one. The whole concept is the scale sends an impulse in one hand or foot and measures the amount of time for it to reach the other pad. This requires precise calibration and sensative equipment you just can't buy at wal mart. Go to a better living store, they suposedly sell high end equipment. Test your self on a demo, you'll see what I am talking about. I was 10% and their top end machine was telling me I was at 18%. I had a solid four pack going and you could see my lower abs starting to come out so i know I was no where near 18%. Don't wast your money, get the calibers. As long as the same person takes the measurements and you do three readings per measure you should be close to good reading. IP: Logged |
