What do you guys think about creatine? I heard the pro and cons of it, and I want to know what you guys think.

in general i just wanna say that people shouldn't buy into the bullshit that creatine is bad for you and will make your kidneys fall apart or something. i found some big long article on how bad creatine was for you and how it doesn't help in weight training and the article was all a load of crap basically. i'll post it if i can find it again...

creatine = good

hehe

I gain weight(albeit H2O) and am definately stronger on creatine than without it. Just drink LOTS of water.

Ok, I see it has some good things about it, but what about all that talk of 'long term damage'? Like what's the stuff gonna do to my internal organs over 20 years?

Or is that talk a load of bs controversy that the media is trying to create?

Creatine is found naturally in beef products among others. Unfortunatly there are no studies to show the long term effects of ADDED supplementation. A schedule of cycling the stuff would probably be best for now. 2 months on 1 month off, just as a suggestion. The effects of drinking ALOT of water will keep your kidney's from overloading on the stuff, besides drinking alot of water know matter who you are is better for the long run healthwise.

i don't know what the deal is with using, then not using creatine. The only way to keep gains from creatine is to be on creatine..so I'd recommend skipping the loading dose, and taking 3-5 grams a day ...basically forever...you may not see rapid results but it'll catch up and obviously will be less liver damaging at 3-5 grams a day...instead of a week of 20 grams a day then 10 grams maintenance

..not to mention the overdose of sugar you need to take in 20 grams a day..
