Just curious if anyone knows anything that worked for them. I had been on accutane twice. It worked both times but now after a while off of it i have developed some lately again and it sucks. Its mostly due to having to shave more regularly i would guess. I have switched razors multiple times also so its not a specific razor. Its not full blown at all times, but as soon as it dies down some bam the next day its back. Anyone have anything that worked for them? I try to wash my face at least a couple times a day.

Go to the dermatologist. They can work wonders.

along with 4-5g of Vit B5 (Patothenic acid) and 100mg of Zinc I take everyday, I have been using Tretoin, Vit A acide gel, .025%...it works good for me.....but, ya only put it on your zits, not all over..it could dry your skin out if ya do...

When I was about 17 I went to a dermatologist and was prescribed Roaccutane (which I guess is another trade name for Accutane) as nothing else had worked. I went on it for 6 months and after I finished the acne never came back. However it did have some side effects in which my skinned dried up considerably and my hair became more curly and didn't grow in two patches. A lot of people said I was going bald when I was 17 but I'm now 28 and it hasn't changed one bit. I put it down to the Roaccutane. If I had the chance again I would use it as the side effects are nothing compared with having nasty zits or even being left with a pockmarked face due to acne scaring.I have heard though it is a very dangerous drug to prescribe women as they may become infertile.

Well i've used the accutane twice, im probably gonna schedule another visit though soon. Just costs money.
As far as gel, i've used i think two or three before, retinol (i think its called), and a couple others i cant remember at all. The only thing that really worked was accutane, but i already have been on it twice.

Tan!! Shower with Oxywash in the morning... Shower with Nizerol shampoo as a bodywash in the evening... it will work.

Proactiv sucks.. you can buy the same stuff over the counter and it works just as well.

I'm not quite sure what you said there slickdadd.. but I find that shaving cream (Edge) breaks me out so I don't use it.. I lather up Oxywash and shave with that..

Clean and Clear makes a gel called "Persagel" it used to be prescription but it's not anymore... it is EXACTLY the same stuff used by Proactiv.

Yeah i switched from razors to a norelco because i thought it was breaking me out. But theres no real change and i've had it for a couple of months now. It seems to just be shaving in general.

Don't wash your face more than once or twice a day.Try a face wash from Nuetrogena called Deep Clean(the creme kind). After that, moisterize your face with a prescribed acne medication called Clindamycin, it's an acne lotion type thing.Spread it evenly across your face. This regimin will won't irritate your skin and will keep it nice and hydrated.Try it.

I have shaving problems too...shave with the grain of your hair and that will help.

Acne stands on 3 legs.. trapped oil, bacteria, and dead skin. Nizerol will take care of the dead skin (dandruff like), Oxy will take care of the bacteria, and I use Listerine as an astringent to wipe my face during the day to control oil, (and Listerine will kill bacteria on your face as well as in your mouth).

For instance the hair on my cheeks grows DOWN.. so I shave with downward strokes. Shaving with up strokes would be against the grain.. You don't get as close as a shave however, you won't be dragging dead skin and bacteria into the pores.

When I go awhile w/o shaving the side of my face breaks out cause I wind up scratching and the dirt, whatever gets in there. So I started shaving at least 1-3 a week [I'm a lazy fuck, really lazy]; so now gotta deal w/ the "5 o'clock shadow" coming in. [Bout fucking time]
I get pimples on my upper back too, when I get out of the shower I put Sea Breeze on my back. Also might wanna try Neutrogena Body Wash and Stridex pads. The Stridex helped my face clear up alot. If your face irritates easily then get the kind that has Aloe in it.

Id say go back to your dermatologist and tell them the problems your still having..I dont think any of the over the counter crap work good (except Benzoil peroxide)..I was having some mild acne and the dr. prescribed 'benzymycin gel'....It has helped alot but its definately a more milder script...

Holy shit!! You got permanent bald spots from accutane! Maybe I won't use it then.

Never go against the grain. Burns like hell afterwards.

B-5 is excellent at anywhere from 4-10grams/day.

Desquam-X and Cleocin are prescription but are good. Nizoral 2% shampoo somehow helps out too - rub the suds on your back.

I use Amway's acne products, they have worked very well for me. The only problem is that they're expensive. Is your acne caused from the use of gear or is just natural? I recommend drinking a lot of water and washing your face 3 times per day. If it's on your body, I don't know what advice to give you.
