The person you name has to be able to make or break a group, get it, like without that particular frontman or woman that group wouldnt make it.
Mine: Zach De La Rocha

Three people come to mind right away. Two have already proven it.

1. Jim Morrison - Without him The Doors suck big time.

2. Ozzy Osbourne - Although Sabbath did better without him than The Doors minus Morrison, they still were nowhere near as good without him.

3. Marilyn Manson - Without him this band doesn't exist.

I agree with Manson not being able to continue without Manson, but look at Nine Inch Nails- Trent produces, sings, plays guitar, piano, keyboard, etc- he isn't just a frontman, he is the band.

But I left them off the list due to the "BEST EVER" title. But seeing that Zack De La Rocha was included, even though Rage is already looking for a replacement meaning they CAN and WILL go on without him, both should be put on the list.

Kurt Cobain & John Lennon should be mentioned as well.

I can't believe I overlooked Trent.

I was thinking about Cobain but David Groehl could've stepped up and sang instead of going off and starting the Foo Fighters. They would've definately been worse, but they would still have been a commercial success, probably even more so than the Foo Fighters.

Havoc: Do you know what De La Rocha is going to do now? I'm all for change, but his voice and style went along perfect with the bands sound.

Despite what you think of him, Freddy Mercury is in a class by himself. As far as the David Gilmour mention, Roger Waters is and will always be Pink Floyd.IMO

I've gotta say Gillan. While I love Ozzy, you have to admit that Sabbath did very well without him (in fact, they did a great album and tour with Gillan ).

Robert Smith (the Cure)

If ANY of the band members from Rush left..

Paul Westerberg (the Replacements..did he die?)

Rob Halfrod (Judas Priest)

Joey Ramone (the Ramones)

Gwen Stefani (No Doubt)

All four members of Kiss need to stay together...

Rick Wakeman (Yes)

David Lee Roth. I saw VH in concert one time & was on the front row. Any time Dave went into the air, i.e. toetouch, he looked like he was jumping on a trampoline he went so high!

Jon Bon Jovi, too!
