A gun?

Being Canadian, I admit to envisioning upon occasion a bunch of crazy gun-toting people with semi-automatics tucked into the waistband of their Levis....

Different guns for different situations.

Do these "situations" occur regularly where you need the use of a firearm?

For instance/....what would you use for a burglar? Shotgun? Uzi? Magnum 357?

Carjacker? Potential kidnapper?

How about when the kid at the McDonalds drivethrough screws up your order...is that just a derringer occurance?

Criminals will always find a way to get possesion of fire arms. Rational people having them just evens up the score.

Kat,

I usually never answer chat post but I do read them , so I know you have enough wits to see the purpose of owning a firearm and its many uses

But to humor you my Vang-comp Remington 870 loaded with 00 buck is never too far from arms reach when at home.

And that whole McDonalds thing is just silly.I only eat Burger King.

b) followed me to my bedroom an proceeded to try to kick the locked door in

it was just me, my girlfriend, two thugs, and my 229..one warning shot, no injuries, nothing taken...

i will never, ever not have a gun within arm's reach of my bed...i also have a concealed carry permit and wear one when i feel the need...which is often in atlanta...

I have three pistols .357 SW, a .40 Fire Star, and a 22 pistol, a semi 12 guage shotgun, a mini-14 militarized of course, a
SKS russian collector piece, a 30-30 winchester, a 10-22 ruger rifle, a single shot 223, a 22-250 target model and incredibly accurate and another I don't recal
what it is. So I have 11 so far + a pellet pistol.

I guess I will just keep on collecting.

I got two glocks.

I got a 10 guage shotgun, piece of crap that I haven't fired in years.

I got a sharps rifle. That fucker ROCKS!

I can plug a Quarter at a half mile. The really good ones can pop a penny.

I don't have a problem with someone owning a hunting rifle or shotgun. I still don't know why people want machine guns and the like, those things are killing machines and have nothing to do with sport.

While I'm sure it takes skill to take down a deer with a rifle, I'm more impressed with someone who uses a crossbow. To me that's more of a sport.

The small walther .380s are cool too. If I had to carry something, it would be one of those. Forget the sigma/glock stuff, the short glock is too chunky, and the sigma .380 has a terrible trigger.

I own many guns for all types of reasons. First of all I like to shoot for sport(target) and I hunt. Second I feel it is the ultimate equalizer. If any large felon(s) decide to break into a home and rob/rape a 100lb woman, how can she defend herself? Firearms. Guns have been getting a lot of flack recently. The truth is more people die every year from D.U.I.'s than from gun related injuries (legal\illegal\accident). Do you hear anyone wanting to ban cars or alchohol?

Criminals are to blame not law abiding citizens. Not only is right and legal for non felons of legal age to own a firearm. But it is OUR constitutional right.

If people are held responsible for their actions and parents raised there kids better
the so called gun problem would be lessened considerably.

I'm not saying there isnt crime here, just not crime involving guns. for instance, Special Bills' anecdote about being broken into whilst they were in the house. Unheard of here.

Our houses get broken into yes, but generally only by pros who have prolly put alot of time and effort into it. They dont want a confrontation, just your stuff.

There is an area near some friends of mine that I hate to say is ummm..."slummy". You do occasionally hear guns going off there, and 95% of the gun related incidents come from there. It's very scary.

I take offense at comparing Canada to Nazi Germany..if anything, we have the most stringint policies on earth towards hate crimes, and our immigration policy is lax enough to almost be laughable.

Never compared Canada to Nazi Germany - if it was taken that way I take it back.
Don't ask Bigbrother to protect you tho - you'll end up getting much more than bargained for. Yes you are correct- Canada has very extensive system for their "Thought Police" who go out looking for "Hate Crimes". They even took Howard Stern off the air because he spreads "Hate Talk". DUH!! That is what the ON/OFF switch on the Radio is for!!

But I can understand - Canadians can't figure out what is best for themselves..they need their wise superior Big Brother Government to do it for them! Just Kidding! Having said all that, Canada is still one of the freer countries in the world.

Maybe they were seriously TRYING to get him off the air. I know he bitched about it a lot in the past when things were hot, but now that you mentioned it he hasn't talked about that in a while.
I do know their were a lot of issues with him violating "hate" laws there and I thought they did indeed ban him. Guess not. Good - one point for Canada.

I don't know about that MP5...I know quite a few people who have moved here from Britain and America who work right away...though I think their work permits were applied for prior to moving here. People like refugees and such I believe there is a lenghty legal process that may indeed prevent them from working for a protracted period of time.
