Those of you who are even remotely following the presidential election mess know that the US Supreme Court has just issued two rulings which assure a Bush victory. And yet, it is theoretically possible that Al Gore should have carried Florida, that he actually got more votes. Well, if Gore is upset, and I am sure he is, he should take out his anger on the Florida Supremem Court. They are the ones who assured his demise, not the US Supreme Court, although our liberal media will probably look to blame them.... This is why and how the Florida Supreme Court screwed Gore: In bending over backwards to help Gore, (it is a Democrat heavy group) they did not set a statewide standard for a recount. Instead they went county by county, inventing new standards as they went. In Palm Beach, one thing counted, in Broward County, another, etc. If teh FL Supreme Court would have imposed a statewide standard right from the beginning, and set a deadline, maybe they could have helped their guy. But like typical Democrats, masters of the entitlements and spending other people's money, they acted on emotion over reason, and they screwed Gore. Had they acted with logic (for any Democrats out there, that word means a clear and rational thought process, based on premises and conclusions) To which I say "Good! Go home Al, and disappear forever. And blame your cohorts for being foolish.     | ||

the thing thats pathetic is this whiney little bitch is not even listening to anyone anymore... he is so hungry for the position he is ignoring most of the democratic party, the people who advise him, etc... they are telling him its over and he needs to call it at that... and he wont!!! why not just give it four years and try over? | ||

Until this Supreme court defeat the democratic party stayed with Gore, at least nationally. The only demos that called for him to get out were local house members who won in districts that voted Bush. The Florida court did fuck Gore's chances though by not adopting a universal standard. All seven of the concurring SC judges stated this. They were in favor of a recount of some kind, just no time to do it. Sucks to be Al. ------------------ | ||

I may have been a bit wordy, but the point I wanted to make was that it was Gore/Democrat judges that forced this case before the US Supreme Court, when they could have ekept it in state. His own people's ineptitude indirectly cost him everything. | ||

Mr. H, you are confused. The bottom line is the machines stated that Bush won. Gore wanted a recount by humans tha are biased. Not just to reaffirm what the machines said, but he wanted them to try and count the ballots that selected NO CHOICE FOR PRESIDENT and decided who they meant to vote for, and somehow those who did not even punch the ticket were voting for him? He fails to realize some people just chose not to vote. If the machine cannot count it, it should not count. | ||

The machines wouldn't accept some ballots that were clearly marked with a choice. I understand that where people had two selections, those should've been thrown away. However they said over 40,000 votes were not accepted by the machine. If these were marked either Bush or Gore, and since the vote was down to 593 after one recount so these ballots would have decided the election, not only the winner, but the whole country is being served a major injustice right now. Florida was all fucked up. Gore loses by 1200, no, we mean 500, ooops, we mean 190. Obviously something was up in this state from the very beginning. In my opinion FLs 25 votes should've been thrown out completely, no matter who the winner. | ||

That is so not true, every ballot that was filled out correctly was counted, if the chads were hanging or not punched through, it did not count. How is it that the recount always gained more for Gore than Bush which defys all statistical logic? ------------------ | ||

Mr H, Gore may well have gotten more votes than Bush. But it was because of the shortsightedness of the Florida Supremes that he is not the President, nor will he ever be. Amazing how unintelligent judges can be, and think of the decisions they make. These Florida supremes had all the authority to pick the next President, and they couldn't even pick the guy they wanted. These are "educated" people no less...HA! What will our "leaders" do next? | ||

Matt, I agree. The state of Florida severely mishandled the situation. When this first happened I thought it was a conspiracy by the government to remove the 'sting' of the results from the half of Americans who voted for Gore and were upset. If it was, it worked. | ||

its funny how Gore says "EVERY VOTE COUNTS" but what about the 3 million votes nation wide that were rejected by machines, should we not go back and recount across the country if EVERY VOTE COUNTS. and what about the absentee ballots from the military that Gore and the Democrats tried to throw out, well, now I'm confused because I thought every vote counts? I'm glad he's done, idiot. | ||

One thing I don't understand is that everyone keeps saying Gore got more votes in Florida. According to three recounts Bush still had more votes. The ballots that registered no vote for president were not legally cast. The voters were informed to inspect there ballots before and after voting and to remove all loose chad before putting in ballot box. Apparently they did not follow the instructions. To say that those 44,000 ballots would have given Gore the votes to win is ridiculus to say the least. I believe the only way we will ever know for sure is to have them counted by an independent firm, which I believe will happen. Unfortunately if they say that Bush got more votes after all, Gore will scream it was just for political reasons that it came out that way and it was not a "fair and accurate" count of the votes. If it comes out in favor of Gore, he will parade those results around the country as though God had spoke to him and make sure that it cause's wide spread partisan bickering and dissent to the point that the next four years will be ineffectual. Then Al will have the kahona's to attempt to run again. I hope that is not the case and he has some shread of honor in him somewhere. | ||

All I have is this to say:: Historicaly every president who has been elected on a year ending in "0" has been assasinated, and both Gore and Bush make good candidates to get WacKed. (I might be wrong about the 00 theory so research it)
