how much does your gym memberships cost? and how long are you signed up for? im just doing some comparing and contrasting of gyms nationwide and the gym i used to work out at charged 200 per yr. that was the maximium, or else you could pay by the 6 months , or 3 months or 5 bucks for each individual visit. around here 200 for a yr is really reasonable seeign they have a cardio room, a weight traing room, and hot tubs, swimming pools, and steam rooms.

For a month to month membership with no contract I had to pay $145 up front, and then $15 a month. I can cancel anythime I want but I lose the $145. Better than the rates they charge at those worthless 24 hour fitness.

I worked at at Gym for over a year--

it was usually a down payment of 100-150$ and 21.63 a month for however long.

or it was 600$ down for 2 years, then 200$ for another 2 years. In the long run, that was the cheapest way to go, its eventually like 7$ a month if you keep renewing.

Pre-paying is a lot cheaper than monthly payments, but rarely do people do it because the don't have the cash.
