I went to a matinee this afternoon and saw "Quills". "Quills" is the story of the Marquis de Sade (Geoffrey Rush, the guy from "Shine") who has been incarcerated in an insane asylum in France. The movie is a little disturbing with A LOT of wicked humor. This is the best movie I've seen "Gladiator".

I believe this flick might get a nomination for best picture.

If anyone else has seen it, I'm curious as to what you think.

I actually studied Sade while in grad school. Very interesting guy. His stuff wasn't just shocking by 18th-century standards, it's pretty sick by today's standards too.

I saw a professional theatre production of "Quills" (it was a play originally), and am eagerly looking forward to the movie.

My own movie recommendation for the day is "Billy Elliot". If you are feeling down over the holidays, go see it, it will pick you right up!
