I think he'll be great again. He has a good knowledge of the game. He won't be nearly as awesome as he was though.

well he looks awful skinny and who knows what kind of shape hes in right now , he might just be doing it to generate some money for the pens cause there franchise is near bankruptcy, but i dontthink hes gonna be the big time money player he once was, he'll be average

Mario the Magnificent will not be "average". And who cares if he's doing it to raise revenue for his Pens?

This is a great story for hockey. One of the best players to ever play the game is making a comeback. He won't be as great as he was but he will still be a dominating force.

Jagr and Lemieux are gonna be a dominating pair. Its awesome to see Super Mario come back, hes one of my all time favorites. Is he getting the C back or is Jagr hanging on to it?

Well, they DO need another center & hey, why not the best ever right? The Pens are playing well so far this year & should be even better when Laukanen & Bouchner return. I just hope Mario doesn't hurt the teams chemistry. It IS great for hockey though!!

sports center said it may have to do with jagr and the coaches poor relationship...

mad props to mario, he is great, and the year he wont the points title after missing 1/4th of the games or more, was unreal... i hope nothing happens to tarnish his image...

now, on a side note, have you ever seen him fight? he was getting bullied one game the entire time, and that fucker beat the shit out of someone on the other team, i was flabergasted.. it was amazing to see him destroy someone physically with the fists... i laughed hardcore.

I don't like the Pens, but Lemieux saved them rom bankruptcy already. If he comes back and leads then to a Cup, he really would deserve the name "Super Mario", and it would be one of the most amazing stories in sports.

yeah, seriously, i was thinkin' about that year that MB was talking about....that really was completely insane...i mean, he missed SOO many games due to his Hodgkins ( i think it mighta actually been a little more'n 1/4)and he STILL managed to win the scoring title...he is just SOOO good, if he was healthy for his entire career, he could have definately have had a run at some o' Gretzky's records...

When Mario comes back, he will become THE dominant offensive force in the NHL within a month. Over his career, he averaged just over 2 points/game. I don't expect these kinds of numbers this year, but I would be surprised if he didn't finish in at LEAST the top 20 in league scoring. He'll average better than a point/game even this season, I guarantee it. If he plays healthy even for a half season, the pens will definitely be a force to be reckoned with.

You people talk like he's going to turn this team around. He'll make an impact - take them to the playoffs - but he said he's not even in a hurry. His team is losing revenue. He's going in to help sales by giving the team a jumpstart so more fans come to watch; therefore more ticket sales.

Don't get me wrong he's a great center but I know he doesn't have what that team needs other than more money.

BTW - Why wouldn't the NBA let Jordan back in the NBA after he was part owner? The NHL may let him in but the Player's Association will cause some noise.

Pauly, they made him give up ownership of the team.....not sure exactly what that means though.Did he give it his dog or what?
Jagr has been whining for a trade all year, that should stop now that someone can get him the puck.Gotta figure if Mario is even
75% of what he was that Pittsburgh can make a run.

Mario is still the owner of the Pens. He gave up the right to vote on governers issues at he board of governers meetings. If they made him give up ownership, they'd have to sell the team by the end of the month! Good luck
