I work for our family owned business, My Dad, Uncle, and Grandfather all work there.
I am getting so sick of all of their remarks about how I am "wasting my time lifting weights"!!!!!!!!!!

My parents are both alchoholics, both smoke, and they get drunk every single night. They bitch at me for working out. They all think it's funny that I drink the same protein drink every day. They always make comments about the mags I bring in to read on break etc, etc.

I just went through a terrible divorce and I don't need this shit, working out has been a savior to me.
I am too messed up to have a girlfriend and I basically just want to be left the hell alone.

My grandpa asked me to come over for dinner today, when I told him I had to lift he got very pissed at me and said that I treat working out like a religion. (He is very religious, I am not). AHHHHHHH

I do love my family but they are driving me nuts!!! Anyone else in a similar situation??

well, my parents are not against working out because they say its healthy, however, they are against me taking creatine and other suppliments because they think they are bad for me.

IF THEY ONLY KNEW I AM PLANNING MY SECOND CYCLE!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

I've been working out for a long time!
My Mother use to give me a hard time, saying
you work out too much; it can't be that
good for you; is that all you are going to eat? I've heard it all!!!!

Just tell them it makes you feel better;
and it keeps you out of trouble!!!
(Tell them you could be running around with your friends, doing all kinds of things).
And eventually they will accept what you are
doing. Or they will get use to it!!!

my parents are very supportive. they sometimes say that i'm a little bit too fanatic, but mostly they just support.

they weren't too happy when i told them that i would be competing in 2 years, since they know that steroids are often involved. but my mom has sometimes made comments like "you know, those supplements and hormones really makes really moody and pissed sometimes". and i'm not even juicing

i think i'm gonna tell them if i'm going to juice, since i'm 23 and have my own apartment.

i'm sorry to hear that livinlarger. tell them how you feel about their remarks, and how working out makes you feel. negativity breeds negativity. you need to get away from them if they can't see your point of view. i only position myself around positive people, even if it means staying away from my family. i hope things work out bro!

I have gotten comments from my girlfriends family when I am not around like "he is a big guy", mostly from the guys in the family. They aren't saying in a supportive way, kind of deregatory (sp). I am not that big, it is just that they are all little squeekers. And one word of warning, don't tell your family you are on juice. What good could possibly come from that. Kind of like "hey mom, did some X at a party last night"
