Trance can be good; check out the latest album from Oliver Lieb, who also works under the moniker of LSG. Great stuff: nice, clean, intelligent and unbelievably well-produced.

JohnnyO, what kind of a set-up do you have? I compose too; sometimes techno, but usually d&b.

Peace

Good artists, Hmm I don't know about techno but for Good trance these are worth checking out.
Paul van dyke is shit hot (Get the track called riddle).
Paul Oakenfold is excellent too.
I like Dj Kaycee, Aurora, york, chicane
Dj tiesto makes some good remix's (delerium - silence is an excellent track).
Storm are good.

If you want hardcore techno checkout Lenny Dee, Rob Gee, Frankie Bones, and Jeff Mills.

Hey Stumpy, I really like Lieb's tracks. Do you spin also?

JohnnyO, that's quite a set up . I have an Akai MPC2000, Ensoniq ASR 10, Novation Drum station and Bass station, an old Korg M1, and a little gem that I highly prize - a Roland SH-101. For sequencing, I use Emagic Logic Audio.

Funkoram, I don't really spin. I have a lot of vinyl, and I sometimes spin for friends at small parties, but other than that, not really.

Fuck straightbeat! Breakbeat is the shit!
Orlando probably has one of the best club scenes in the country if not the best we have so many DJ's that are nationwide.

BabyAnne
Kimbal Collins
DJ Icey
DJ X
Sandy
Huda Hudia and Tony Faline
DJ Magic Mike
and a ton more I cant think of of the top of my head. All of them have worldwide releases.

Im not sure how big breakbeats are up north but Florida is known for it.
