OK, MY LAST DOBE HAD HER EARS DONE FOR 120 BUCKS... IT WAS 8 YEARS AGO... NOW THIS VET HERE WANTS 330, AND THE THING THAT IS GETTING ME IS THE FACT THAT MORE THEN ONE PERSON THERE HAVE SAID HOW "GENTLE AND SWEET" DOBERMANS LOOK WITH EARS FLOPPY... PERSONALLY I DONT LIKE IT, MY CHOICE... BUT THAT SEEMS VERY STEEP FOR PRICING... WHAT DO YOU THINK     | ||

Seems a little steep. You are in Tennessee, correct? The cost should be comparable to here in Ga. I believe the cost here is 95-115 for each ear, so yeah your price seems a little steep. BTW - floppy ears on Dobies in particular lead to ear canal and eardrum problems due to the canal staying damp and not getting air. Just my .02 ------------------ The moral? It doesn't matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle, when the sun comes up - you had better be running. | ||

what does it include...pain meds, all post op ear tapings,antibiotics, blood work? Down here in FL you can get all the above in the 200s or less depending on his/her weight | ||

Mad you quite indecisive...it its too much shop around...if you like you vet alot pay the money and get it over with....quality is the key....if your willign to pay for a cosmetic surgery to begin with price should be such and issue.....Keep them floppy and she can go swwiming without as many ear infections  I didn't snip my puppys ears or tail | ||

I LIKE CROPPED DOBES... SHAGS, I CAN AFFORD A NORMAL CROP, BUT 330 IS INSANE... I COULD HAVE BOUGHT A SHOW DOG, CROPPED ALREADY FOR WHAT I WOULD END UP PAYING FOR HER INCLUDING THIS CROP. AND USUALLY THE SHOW DOGS ARE OLDER, ALREADY HOUSE TRAINED, CROPPED, ALL SHOTS. AND NO, I WOULDNT GIVE MY PUP UP FOR ONE... SHE IS MINE AND ACTS LIKE IT. | ||

One thing you have to remember here is that cheap does not necessarily mean good or great! To have my dogs ears done with laser surgery is going to cost me about 400 dollars for each dog. A good price would be in the 300-500 range. When shopping for a vet, check out references ask for pictures if they have them of previous ear croppings and then price. This is one area not to be cheap in! | ||

I just talked to my Vet, She said that it would cost 265$ Canadian roughly 175$ US. for both ears. Puppy cannot be older than 14 weeks. And must have all of its shots. | ||

The older she gets the thicker the ear tissue...hence greater pain and greater bleeding usually....so don't wait too long...plus some vets won't preform it after a ceratain age...The vets I worked with most wouldn't do it at all...only one who whould under strickt age conditions. | ||

OK, HERES THE ENTIRE STORY... MY VET KEPT TELLING ME HE WANTED TO WAIT... LAST TIME HE SAW HER HE SAID THE EAR TISSUE WASNT THICK ENOUGH... I THOUGHT THAT WAS ODD CONSIDERING YOU WANT IT TO THICKEN AFTER THE SURGERY... BUT HE HAD RAISED DOBES SO I WENT ALONG WITH HIM PLUS THEY HAD BEEN VERY HELPFUL... WELL I AM CALLING AROUND NOW AND GET THIS PRICE DIFFERENCE 145- 165 DOLLARS TOTAL!!! WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?! | ||

I CANT VERY WELL HAVE THEM DONE AT A DIFFERENT VET THEN BRING HER TO MY VET FOR BOARDING OVER THE HOLIDAY... I DONT SEE MUCH OF A CHOICE UNLESS THESE OTHER PLACES CAN BOARD HER TOO...
