I have only been lifting for 2 months. Today I decided to increase my db press and guess what? My dad gum shoulder really aches. It radiates down my left arm. Crap I havent been doing this too long and this comes along. Any suggestions? How long do I need to let it rest? I was just getting into it. Oh well......rd

Cut back on the weight. Give yourself a week off of the db press. Got a hammer machine in your gym? use it!

What does your dad and gum have to do with your shoulder? J/K, rest, ice, rest, ice, train smart and listen to your body, injuries are needed, they teach valuable lessons.

Make sure you are stretching prior to lifting. Do several lighter warmup sets prior to work sets. Include rotator cuff movements in your warmup. Do not lift on it while it hurts, you'll just injure it further.
