Had a contest on saturday,it is a "natural" event held twice a year.When i turned up for pre-judging i knew i was in trouble.There was a guy there who was about 220 and ripped at about 6foot, he had competed six months earlier at about 215 and fat.It was obvious there was more than creatine at work here.There was another guy who i know was using ephadrine fairly hard for the last two months, and he was a bit smaller that me but ripped.There was some other guys who were either a little fat or no legs etc.I of course was holding water which had obscured my hard earned definition.I had used the old recommended formula of doubling your water intake from mon-thurs,halfing it on friday and just sipping on contest day.In retrospect i was much harder on the thursday, before i started to restrict it.
Anyway after the prejudging i knew i was not in contension for the top two spots as i was not called out for a comparison.

The evening show rolled on and i had convinced myself that i might be able to swing things with a good free posing round.I came out on stage and asumed my first pose as the music started.It was about five seconds later that i realised they had started my music mid way through the song.I just finished my routine hap hazzardly and walked off.Talk about a downer,the placings were announced and i came third.i had been beaten by a jucier(nothing against it,just don't compete in natural shows)and a guy who was smaller than me, but harder due to ephadrine and they had fucked up my routine.

The contest wasn't tested due to the limited financial resources of the organisers.This is the type of experiance that seriously makes you consider chemical assistance,i'd love to come back six months later and clean house.I think i'll at least try the ephadrine for cutting.I've sinced bounced back again and i am determined to get bigger and harder for the next one.For the record i was about 180 at 5,8" and natural.I haven't got a scanner so no pictures unfortunately, my stats were on the day,
arms - 16.75 (down from 17" happy about that)
quads - 25.5 (down from 27" ooach)
chest - 46 (down from 47")
Calfs - 16.5 (down from 17")
Waist - 30.5 (down from 34" yahoo)
Thanks to everyone who gave me advise, i just wanted to share my experiance with you guys, maybe get some feedback.

There were 5 in my catagory.Don't know about winning next year, as i was checking out the first timers and there were a few to keep an eye on.At least three guys on the sauce from that lineup, which will be against me next time.One guy had a mild case of gyno when he did the ab and thigh shot.None of them had decent legs though.
My diet was pretty good leading up to the comp, i knocked dairy products on the head,pizza's,beers etc and was eating very cleanly, mainly chicken, turkey, pasta, rice and eggs.I was also walking for half an hour into work and another half an hour on the bike during my lunch breaks, hitting the weights after work.

Don't get me wrong the guy who took 2nd deserved the win.He trains at my gym and is intense.He had kept covered up for the last 8 weeks, training at off times,and he caught me off guard.He had dropped around 25 pounds on that stuff,which obviously works.I will probably use it myself next time, although sparingly as i heard it is hard on the liver.
