Whether Bush or Gore gets elected? I don't have a good basis since I wasn't too interested in politics before Clinton, seeing as I was 10, but do you really think much is going to change? Gore won't really be able to take firearms away, not with Rep. controlled congress right? And Bush won't touch abortion either...so taxes may go up a bit w/ Gore, maybe, and they may go down a bit w/ Bush, maybe, but most promises canidates make don't become truths anyway right? The two parties pretty much keep everything in deadlock too...at least that's what I'm seeing...I guess that's kind of the point eh?     | ||

To be perfectly honest, I think more will get done under Bush, especially if they still control the House and Senate. The dems don't like Bush, but I'd be willing to bet the Repubs dislike Gore more so. Can't wait to see the final vote totals. Browne got 478,000 votes in 1996. I'm hoping he can break the 1,000,000 mark this year. I did my part, influenced several family members to vote Libertarian. As for the rest of the votes...Hope Nader does better than expected, and of course I hope Bush will pull it out over Gore. | ||

Beast, I'll answer for me. The problem with most democrats is that they tend to believe that another governemtn program is the answer to every problem, when it has clearly been shown that that is not the case. | ||

If Gore wins and the balance of the congress and senate stay republican then nothing real will happen over the next four years. If Bush wins and the balance of the congress and senate shift to the democrats then nothing real will happen over the next four years. If either party gains both institutions then the true balance of political power will shift and a great deal will happen. Democrats - Many will push through pork barrell polotics and get beaucoup bucks for their local constituants. Dirty Fuckers!! Bush will have to break a promise to either the elderly or the youth of America since he has promised the same trillion dollars to both, I wonder who will lose out? Another thing for sure, Gore if elected will not be able to do anything that will keep this economic boom going. Plus he will piss off all his enviro buddies when he caves to lobbiest, senate-congress pressures on key environmental issues. Further, it was the signing of the first Telecom act in 1992 that opened the net to commercial practices that started this boom anyway. What you people think the net just happened with cisco? Uncle same has no more toys to privitize. Another fun fact the Senate and Congress just passed a bill allowing the number of skilled immigrants to increase from 60,000 a year to 180,000 a year to dillute the tech pool and bring tech salaries "down to earth"..Kiss those insanely high entry level salaries good bye!
