Your attacks on Bush are truly pathetic. I constantly see statements that the occasional and insignificant stumbles by the Republicans put them on par with the Democrats. Sorry, but it doesn't work that way. Misleading once or twice is not the same as misleading on a daily basis such as Al Gore does. Having no comment on issues is not the same as looking straight into a camera and flat out lying repeatedly. Al Gore even had the gall to say "I've never told a lie." When pressed further he said, "Well, not that I know of."

I doubt I will get many responses to this post. Democrats are known to either run away or change the subject when they know they have been beaten. But stop the comparison of Bush to Gore in that they are now equal on character. You are just showing your own ignorant zeal for the Jackass Party.

One thing too I have noticed about democrats is that when cornered and losing an argument or debate, they become hostile, I wonder why, I have not seen very many republicans become hostile the way the democrats do, by using sensationalism, and so forth.

No doubt on that hostility. During the impeachment time, I challenged my aunt's blind backing of Clinton. I will grant that I was baiting her a little bit, but I was still being calm and rational. She is a highly successful professional and extraordinarily bright. Her response quickly became irrationally emotional and sounded like the stock answers I was hearing from the irrational Clinton backers like Rivera. I was dumbfounded by the way she responded and I still am to this day. Disappointed too...in a big way.

Just what I thought, the Democrats cower away from a direct challenge. You can vote for Gore, but you sure as hell can't come up with a valid reason. I'm sorry, but at this point, with all the lies and rhetoric I hear from the Dems, I'm sick of playing nice.

If your a Democrat, you need to go get the liberal computer chip removed from your brain.

This is going to be bumped until one of the obvious liberal/democrat types cares to respond. I don't care if I bump it into the 2004 election

BTW, Bush is winning every single poll that I have seen recently. I will never give my vote to anyone other than Libertarian, but its nice to see that a lying bastard like Gore doesn't stand a chance.

frack, i disagree with Nader on big government, but if he is what you believe in then you should vote for him. by voting for Browne am i voting for gore? course not, i'm sending a message to washington that i want smaller government, and my vote cannot possibly be interpreted as anything else.

yeah i've seen them. they are decent adds but not nearly as effective as Browne's. if you see them they really hit hard, even if you don't support him.

as for Buchanan, hes a bit out of touch on some issues. he has the right idea with his tax plan though.

Still no one has defended Gore.

I am waiting for someone to do that, without attacking Bush.

Matt, I don't think you will find anyone who can openly and logically support gore. From what I have read on these posts, they don't like Bush, cause he is a redneck? WTF, or he passed a concealed carry law? C'mon. All the dems can do is hurl insult after insult, and justify their actions and ideas through sensationalism, fear and so forth.

It is the blind be led by the blind, just like lambs to the slaughter.

Buchannon's purpose is to drive the Reform party into the ground IMO. 2Thick's post was right on the dot.

Yeah, he ruined the reform party. Even Perot is backing Bush. It is nice to see a healthy 3rd party movement whether that be for Nader or Browne on the board. Its a sign that American citizens are starting to use their noodles. Like Jesse Ventura says: "We have a two party system, that gives us one more choice than Russia".

I agree that Buchanan is a crappy candidate, but is it totally accurate to say he ruined the Reform Party? I thought Jesse Ventura droped out because of all the in-fighting going on.

As I understand it most of the infighting was about Pat Bucannons hostile take over of the reform party. Both Ventura and Perot said that the infighting between them was played up by the media with no real basis. And those guys are straight shooters, if they didnt like each other they would say it. Ventura simply has completely different views than Pat B.-

Repost

Innocent Question #007:

Eight years ago, Ross Perot's Reform Party managed to wrest almost 20% of the popular vote away from this country's twin rival political juggernauts, the Republicans and Democrats. Many Washington insiders felt that Perot stole more votes from Bush the Elder than from Clinton - exit polls showing otherwise notwithstanding - and that his candidacy was a huge, if not deciding, factor in getting Clinton elected. Flash forward eight years. Former Nixon warhorse Pat Buchanan renounces his longstanding ties with the Republican Party and declares his intentions to run for President under the banner of Reform. Under questionable circumstances and with no small amount of intimidation, Buchanan and his cronies manage to take advantage of Reform's laissez-faire convention rules and basically steal the candidacy from John Hagelin.

Buchanan's actions have a three-fold effect. First, they manage to disgust and alienate Reform's biggest star and best chance to get in the White House, Jesse Ventura, who quits the party over the internal strife caused by Buchanan, a man whose politics Ventura cannot abide. Second, they manage to disenfranchise the people who built the Reform Party up from nothing not so long ago, causing them to leave the party in droves. Finally, they manage to confuse the electorate by placing an extreme social conservative and economic isolationist at the head of a party that had been selling itself as socially liberal and fiscally conservative. The net result of Buchanan's run? So far this year, Reform has yet to score more than a single percentage point in any national poll.

My innocent question is this: Could it be that Pat Buchanan took control of the Reform Party with every intention of flying it into the side of the mountain, on purpose? Is it possible that Pat's Reform candidacy is nothing more than the ultimate Republican Party dirty trick - an artform Pat perfected while working for Nixon - ensuring the downfall of the GOP's greatest potential rival for the fiscally conservative votes? Considering the fact that was disclosed this week that Republican Party backers are paying for Nader ads in key swing states, the above sinister scenario doesn't seem all that far fetched to yer old pal Jerky.
