well ive decided to quit my job because they are screwing me around and givin me school nite closes,and now im being blamed for a assault which my school principal has talked to me,here is what happened,my friends put a grade 9 in a garbage can and hit him a few times and the kid started to cry,my so called friends blamed me when i was just standing there watching and now i could be fucked right over,any help at all would be good,this will totally screw my dream of being a cop over ------------------     | ||

I suggest you seriously sit down and talk to your friends about this lying shit bro. Oak, you are mistaken.... Even if you were convicted (highly doubtfull) because of your age and a fucked up piece of Canadian legislation known as the "young offenders act" any criminal record you have prior to 18 years of age is sealed..ie it wouldn't affect your application to any Canadian police force. This is 100% fact, whomever told you otherwise doesn't know shit, trust me on this Bro, and relax... | ||

Oak, do a little research and you will feel better...I know the Canadian legal system very well, and I also know the application requirements VERY well.. Your young offender record IS sealed on your 18th birthday, never to be opened again UNLESS you commit a criminal offence as an adult. Secondly even if you did commit a crime as an adult, you still have a shot at being a cop. You can apply for a Pardon.... If you are still in doubt, go to a police station in Brantford and ask for an application....it reads and I quote "have you ever been convicted of a criminal offence for which a pardon has not been granted?" Hope this helps, and quit listening to people (cops included) that don't know SHIT!!! | ||

My ex is a cop, and at one point I applied to Metro (Toronto) I got a pardon for a possesion charge before I applied...I was accepted but decided against it at the last moment..being a cop is a thankless job Bro..talk to some veterans before you decide on it 100% | ||

i have a few friends whos dads are cops and i use to goto s gym where a cop trained and we talked a few times,they say its a great job,i just want to make a difference in other peoples lifes to better a community ------------------ | ||

Oak, that sounds ridiculous dude. I doubt they're gonna do anything to you for that. I know here in the states if i was in that position they would just let me outta school for 5 days lol. Just find you another job and don't sweat the thing at school. Well I for one would drop the idea of being a cop. Do you fantasize the idea of catching lead for a living? Do you enjoy the idea of coming to fatal accident scene so you can keep the memories, just so later on in life you can go home after your shift and get shit faced so you can pass out because the memories won't go away? Or are you just interested in the retirement plan? Get real I use to think about the "Profession" and now I know better. | ||
