THE GIRL BOUGHT A USED EXPLORER AND PAID 6500. THE BRAKES WORK FOR SHIT, THE A.C. IS BROKE (WE KNEW THIS), THE CARBERATOR IS JACKED UP... ITS BASICALLY A HUNK OF SHIT.

ITS THE BRAKES THAT ARE THE KICKER... THEY WENT OUT ON HER MORE THEN ONCE... MIDAS SAYS ITS A COMPUTER CHIP, LIKE A FEW GRAND OR SOME SHIT TO FIX. THE BITCH MUST HAVE KNOWN THIS STUFF CUZ SHE JUMPED AT THE 6500 OFFER WHEN SHE WAS ASKING 75 OR 8K... ALSO, SHE HAD THE GIRLFRIEND SIGN A RELEASE TYPE STATEMENT... THE THING IS, THE GIRLS GARAGE HAD CHECKED IT OUT AND SAID IT "WAS A GOOD CAR AT A GOOD PRICE"... WHAT THE FUCK???

depends on your state, soe have a 3 day law....you can sue her and if there is a previous record of her being notified of the problems etc...there is fraud...

have a dealer check the history of the car on the computer network, they search by serial number, get that and determine if they lied to you...

How long has it been since she bought it? What did the papers say that she signed? Usually when you buy a used car in that shape the owner should allow you to test it out for a day or two. I would say she has been screwed.

Most states have a 3 day "lemon law" that protects against this very situation. If this time has passed, contact an attorney and if you can prove that these were pre-existing problems, you've got a very good case.

In the state I live in, you have to have to have a safety inspection less than 60 days old to sell a car...one with bad brakes would not pass. Offer to sue the biatch if she would like you to.

In California, the lemon law applies to NEW cars only.

All Used cars are sold "as is" and no recourse is possible unless fraud was purposely committed by ommission. (Can be hard to prove)

I would feel out the dealer and see what can be worked out. If nothing, then file a complaint with DMV, Consumer affairs,News stations, etc.

Unless the dealer is a real asshole, usually something can be worked out to each others satisfaction.

What vehicle these days has a carbuerator? I would imagine it is fuel injected unless it is old.

it's a 94 ford explorer...i bought it from some lady, not a car lot...1st mistake..second, i signed that stupid form saying i'm buying it "as is" so i'm sure she knew there was a problem. midas said it's a glitch that will only happen once in a while..., but will only get worse. i don't have 2 grand to put into it. i may have to pay someone to take the damn thing. the 1st time it happened, i had my 1st wreck and that guy is trying to screw me out of money too. i can't win. thought it could have been the tires...firestone blowouts, so i got new ones, and didn't have a problem for another month or so..then just last week...slowing down to a stop sign, they gave out again, and i had to swerve into someone's front yard to avoid another wreck...it's a death trap.
