In the last two months I've went from 215 lbs. and I'm currently 196. I'm guessing about 10-15 more pounds till I'm below the 10% bf area. I've been cutting my carbs and overall calories and doing my regular weight training, and cardio 5-6 times a week sometimes twice a day. Well this morning we had a weigh in (I'm in the Army). I didn't meet the weight standards for my heighth (5'11), so they measured my bf% by tape. The results were 21.45% bf. I'm like no damn way. I'm not where I want to be but I don't think I could be 21% freaking bf. So I'm like whatever, I'm making progress and I'm just gonna keep on doing what I've been until I get where I need to be. As if thats not bad enough, one of my seargants comes to my sea hut and tries to lecture me. He says that I'm over weight because of whey protein!!!!
Usually I just tell them what they want to hear and nod so they shut up, but I tell him protein does not get stored in the body, its either used to repair muscle and any excess is excreted. I know for a fact that I'm not even getting as much protein as I need. Then he says that it has other stuff in it, I said yeah 2 grams of carbs and 1.5 g of fat. he says well it all adds up. I tell him that I been losing fat not gaining (which he knows). I'm pretty hot and heated then he says, Well you don't work out hard enough or often enough to need this stuff. That stuff is made for people who work out 8 hours a day. "I guarantee if you lay off this stuff for a month you can lose the needed bf. I look better than he does. It seems like people who don't work out always know what you should eat and how you should train and what you should and should'nt take. I'm mad as fuck. Fuck em. Thats my rant. Thank You!!!!

The guy is a complete jackass. Don't worry about it. You don't want to do cardio twice per day. Do it like 3 or 4 times per week. If you can't stand missing days then at least break up what you do... run, walk, stair/hill climbing, bike, etc. Don't let your body get too use to the same stress.... it will develop a tolerance. It is kind of like an alcoholic. Their bodies are so used to alcohol they need to keep changing how much they drink/what they drink in order to get drunk. You are trying to cut calories thru cardio, so you need to continue to change your methods... Hope this helps a little.

Get your body fat tested at a gym, or buy some calibers and test it yourself. I know the Army won't listen to you but at least you'll know the truth. I can't believe they still use the height weight charts to measure fitness.

Yeah, those tests are stupid, They measure your waist and your neck. I'm considering buying one of those electronic calipers by ast research. It's like 30 bucks. I really don't care what the army says, but I'm sure I'm below 21%.
