i'm watching MTV right now and just saw the charlie's angels come out with a shit that said "i won't vote for a son of a bush". no doubt this MTV compaign will get a bunch of uninformed liberals to the polls which is a damn shame. no matter how you feel about abortion, i think you have to admit the only chance to get the majority women vote is to be pro-choice. there are many other things that affect my life more than abortion, and will in the future. from my perspective, taking the plunge to pro-choice would be worth it so the liberals may examine themselves and realize they don't want a socialist bastard in office.

Don't let him full you. Bush is a repulican right and the are for small goverment. He for the party has to say he is not pro choice, but he and really is. Bush would like to see all americans make their own choices, that is one reason he removed the helmet law as soon as he became Gov of Texas.

Raise the speed limit also. He was forced in many ways to pass the .08 DWI law. that sucks. He did give in to the Big goverment push of Clinton in that aspect, because clinton passed something or is in the process of passing something that would cut off some type of funds to states that have the DWI limit above .08. I hate a goverment that thinks we can not manage our own investments. They demo's may be correct that many would mismanage the money, but I would make much more than 2.5% that the social security gund is making.

i agree with you about the speed limit checkmate. its one of those things adjusted for the lowest common denominator though. sure, i can handle going 60 in a 40 zone, but old ppl and drunks can't.

Why would he do that if that's not what he believes? It's not like he's Al Gore...

Carbon copies of the same political hack? Dude, are you even paying attention to the campaign, to the candidates? I'm sorry, but that is sad.

Abortion should be a states rights issue. Is it mentioned in the Constitution? No. Then according to the 10th Amendment, it;s a states rights issue, not a federal one.

As such, if Roe vs Wade were overturned, abortion wouldn't suddenly be outlawed. Laws would be crafted on a state by state basis, the way the Constitution intended it.

I liked the old Republican Party platform on abortion, which said it should be permitted in cases of rape, incest or if the life of the mother was threatened by the birth. Using it merely as a form of birth control is morally wrong---& alot of the women who get the procedure, get it performed multiple times----DUH!!! I agree with the other bros who think George W is a closet pro-choicer, but not of the radical liberal variety. He should have taken more of a proactive stance though.

Ft Lauderdale, I find that a pretty typical male statement, considering its the women who are having the babies.
Its so easy for men to judge, isnt it?

Personally, I do everything and anything not to get pregnant and I would rather not be living than have children, but if something goes wrong, then no man on the face of this earth is going to tell me I can't have an abortion. when men start having babies they can have a say.

kat, since you are a woman who is pro-choice, i'm curious about your stance on partial-birth abortion. what do you think?

you mean abortion that involves inducing labor?
I'm pretty cold-hearted about it...whatever it takes to get the job done.

HOWEVER, before anyone starts flaming the crap outta me, if someone has CHOSEN to have a child and they want that child I would do everything in my power to protect it. I have taken down more than one man and woman for beating on their kids. If it has been chosen to be born, then it deserves protection.
I am adopted and I laugh when anti abortionists say I should therefore be on their side. BS...i would've taken the knife to me in a minute. I don't see how someone could CHOOSE to have a child and then give it up.
Now THATS cold.

Maybe insead of worrying about whether or not people should have abortions they should worry about the scum sucking bastards that whip their children with telephone cords.

Its a dead issue. Even when it was outlawed middle class and upper class women were still able to find doctors to do it. Poor women are the ones that end up in allys. I think women are very idealist about it though. They just dont like men telling them what to do. I wish they could see that outlawing abortion would really not affect them-(like outlawing guns would not get rid of guns)

kat, why is your opinion that a baby should be able to be killed when it is 3/4 out of the womb any better than say Billy-Bob's opinion that any baby younger than 6 months should be able to be decapitated if it is the parent's choice? in many cases the child is not really any smarter at 6 months, and in the case of pre-mature babies, is physically no more mature.

"BS...i would've taken the knife to me in a minute."

no offense, but i think you need some counseling.

"I don't see how someone could CHOOSE to have a child and then give it up.
Now THATS cold."

Colder than say, sucking it's brains out?

Thats what makes it an emotional debate, and you tell me I need counselling because I think the children that ARE here should be protected.

Whatever....I never said I was right, its just an opinion and I hope its a choice I never have to make.

Since Im not American I guess you don't have to worrya bout me voting for the wrong president. I have enough worries trying to keep the bible thumping far right out of our Prime Ministerial office.

Best of luck.

kat, the counseling comment was in reference to you saying you would have taken the knife to yourself in a minute...comon now you have to admit thats not a healthy way to be thinking.

i am ok with early term abortion because i feel the fetus has really yet to become truly human, but partial birth blurs the line of what murder is, and opens a pandora's box in my opinion. if that can be legal, ANYTHING can be legal. i am against the right wingers too, guess i share some views from both sides.

Translation:
taken the knife to me= having an abortion

I don't find that an unstable choice at all, but I think my quote was misunderstood as meaning I would do harm to myself. At 20, perhaps I would have. now, it would be a very tough decision which is why I hope I never have to make it.

It did sound reather crackheaded, but its just slang terminology.
