Today I was doing this rear delt exersize. I was on an incline bench...laying on my stomach. When I was lifting the dumbells, on the last few reps I didnt breath like normal and I think I messed something up in my head. Its hard to explain, its as if there is a muscle inside of my skull that i tore or something. You can feel it, it is a very sharp pain in your head, like something is getting ripped out. Can someone tell me what this may be? please...I do not know anything about it...it does not hurt now though.

I used to get the shit all the time when I first started training. Really pay attention to correct breathing techniques. When I learned to breath correctly while training, I stopped getting those pains and also my lifts became heavier.

Chaos is correct, its all in the breathing, this will happen unexpectedly at times, just concentrate on every rep, peace

"Quit talking shit"

NOTE TO ALL: just like i said in my previous posts, everyone has a vendetta against me. if anyone else said what i did it would have been no big deal. but whatever, i can handle it.

Improper breathing will happen is what I am implying which may possibly trigger the negative feeling in your head that you have been describing, I did what your talking about one time while I was performing leg extensions, I got so caught up in the set that I forgot about everything else, the pain in my head had me on the floor for 10 minutes. Its nothing to worry about, it may not ever happen again, peace and good night.

Shooting pain in the head during a set has something to do with something called the Vasalva effect (it's been a while since i read it so i'm not 100% sure about the name) but it's basically your brain screaming for oxygen, the vaslava effect can cause you to pass out too, you better concentrate on your breathing cuz if you pass out during a bench press set you can say goodbye to your face and any chance you had of getting laid.

Silvio Speaking of that, at the gym where I used to work out in IL there was a lady doing bench press and she finished her set and went to rack it and she did not get the bar on all the way and it fell and broke her jaw and knocked out five of her teeth.

OUCH!!!
