I got this pain in left shoulder and don't know how to get rid of it and whats actually wrong with it. Friday it felt a little sore, but I figured it was from sleeping on it or something and thought nothing of it. Then when I got out of school I played a little wiffle ball in my back yard and it started hurting really bad, after about 10 swings, when I swung. So I stopped playing and went inside til it was time for my hockey game. At the game I caught a little kid with his head down and decided to knock it off for him. With out thinking I used my left shoulder and buried him. Then the pain starting shooting through like a motha. I played until I got slashed in my throat and left due to being lightheaded. I went to work this morning and I couldn't even lift a 24 pack of soda w/ my left arm. Anyone know what I might have done to it and how to relieve some pain?

I'm icing it now on and off. I have a game tomorrow afternoon at 6 and have no intentions of sitting out. Probably a stupid move, but I have to play. So it'll get its rest tomorrow night till, I think, Friday when we play again.

REXIE. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO *NOT* PLAY. DON'T BE STUPID. YOUR BODY IS TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING, OBVIOUSLY YOU KEEP ESCALATING THE DAMAGE. PLAY TOMMORROW, AND YOU'LL MAKE IT WORSE, YOU'LL PROBABLY END UP OUT FOR A LONG WHILE THEN. SHOULDER INJURIES ARE NOT TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY. DON'T BE A FOOL!

Frackal. Those big bold letters got me thinking a little. I'm gonna keep icing it and see how it feels around game time. I'm gonna make a gametime decison, if it feels good I'll go, if it ain't I'll sit out. You're right though, one game of bein a "tough guy" and messin it up more than it is isn't worth sitting out the rest of the season w/ the injury. Thanx for looking out for me.

No problem man. I know, I just got over a minor back injury that put me behind about 1.5 months. It's not something to mess with, if I couldn't train again I would fucking lose it. Good luck man, play it safe with this kind of thing.

Frack: The pain in my left shoulder was gone today when I woke up. It felt great, I even tried lifting some moderatly heavy stuff to try it out and it eflt great. So I opted to play tonight and what do ya know? The other one got fucked up. I'm out of practice for the week and since we don't have a game til the 27th I'm gonna let ir rest all it wants.

I had a simular problem. It took me months to get over it. I still have a problem with it, but it is tolerable.

As far as your game, DON'T DO IT! I tried to continue to workout, but at a very limited effort. This kind of injury is long in recovery, if you don't give it a rest, your going to pay for in in the longrun. Three days of doing nothing and I mean nothing with that shoulder is good advice.

Hope you do better down the road Bro.

hardcore answer: opiate based pain killers with amphetamines....

doesn't your team have a doctor that will do a joint block with local anesthetic, then tape the fucker...

thats what my dad always did when we broke or sprained our ankles during soccer season...

yes, that is a fucked up way to grow up...

My team don't have shit. We have no doctors or even a first aid kit for that matter. When I broke my finger I had to clean the blood off by licking it off my hand and applying pressure to stop the bleeding. No gaus, no band-aid. When I hurt my shoulder the first words out of the coaches mouth were 'Can you hold a stick?' Yeah you fuckin care if I'm injured.

you have a tough decision to make....keep going and risk further injury, or lay out and let it heal...

choose life or death boy

i admire your intensity Rex! I say you play that game and you kick some asses...

then you need to concentrate all your energy on healing, and TA DAM! gone..

well works for me, I played basketball once on a broken foot for about a quarter (without knowing it), but then when i had to sit and when the adrenaline came down i could barely walk but i still wanted to get back on... and i would have, but i couldn't get off the bench anymore
