The alter ego / or non alter ego saga is boring me, so I'm posting something useful.. for me anyway. I'm riding my bike 360 files starting Thursday from Houston to Dallas. This will take 4 days, and I'll arrive in Dallas Sunday. I understand that even if I eat 4000 cals a day I'm still going to lose weight. Is there a way I can guarantee that fat will be lost as opposed to muscle mass? My upper body is skinny enough.

It would be risky but if you go mainly high protein lowe carbs you will hit ketogensis during the ride. However you do run some risk of stroking under these conditions. I use a a high protien diet with only 30gms of carbs a day once a month for a week to 10 days and the weight / fat lose is always noticable. Given that you are biking though under extream conditions I would recommend keeping the carbs and protien at about 30%/70% for the ride.

Johnny O, They're talking rain here, Fri,Sat,maybe Sun. Did you say people throw shit at you during the ride? WTF? Good luck on the calories man. I can't imagine what I would lose. Question...how are you getting back? hehe ------------------

Hey sugar...I still love you....eat continously...get some drinks like Size Up, and fill that Camel pack with them....sip as you go...You can hit over 4,000 calories no problme with that alone

www.accuweather.com looks like it will be nice weather, and I don't mind a little rain. This is the first year I'm doing this, and yes there was issues with high school kids throwing bottles and rocks last year, but the police did put a end to that pretty quick. There will be a celebration of sorts downtown on Main by Kennedy plaza I belive, and I have several friends meeting me there... I'm driving back on Monday. |
