Thanks Jae!

I've been hanging out at www.sqlcourse.com for a while and I'm already starting to see how the language works. I'm 1 million percent sure there is much more to this than what I've learned so far, but it seems, like you said, sort of easy to learn

Do you know what books are good manuals for this? Is "Oracle DBA 101" a good one?

Believe it or not, The Dummies (Idiots) Guide to Oracle is a very comprehensive book. I read it myself and still learned a couple of things. Plus it gives you real life examples to relate the database workings against.

If you become very comfortable with the terminology and language, you can buy Oracle Unleashed which comes with a CD in the book that you can install a small Oracle database on your computer and practice all the lessons, I would learn all I could before hand and then take some class that offered Oracle training to build upon.

What kind of work do you do now?

Bro,

You better take advantage of the training classes and opportunities your company may offer. Get in the HR department and poke around and see what they will pay for.
