I havent smoked in a while but that isnt my fault. For the feds out there........I have lbs and lbs just stacked up in my house. My couch is made of weed along with my tv and entertainment center. I have a 8 bedroom apartment with 1000 plants in each bedroom. I make a million dollars a month and dont pay taxes on any of it.

10 years ago it was estimated that a 1/3rd of the US smokes herb on a regular basis, since then that number has increased to almost half. ------------------ | ||

I have a pretty liberal attitude towards most body building drugs. But not towards something that pollutes the body. Smoking, whatever it is fills your lungs with carbon monoxide, and other gases that are deadly to the body. Just like taking cocaine, or crack or crystal meth. Why on Gods green earth would someone spend so much time eating properly, working out, resting to ruin it all by shooting crystal meth or smoking marijuana? I don't understand. Of course I don't drink either because alcohol is a poison as well. Just my .05 worth. chesty | ||

Prohibition didn't work for liquor. It doesn't work for pot or AS. It won't work for guns. Prohibition creates crime, and fills our jails with nonviolent, victimless crimes so that we must turn murderers free because we don't have the resources to handle the serious criminals. I do agree the war on drugs is a dismal failure, but with the exception of alcohol (in most cases), when I was a Sheriff's Deputy, we had to deal with crimes of Highway robbery, aggravated robbery, burglary, aggravated battery, rape, murder. All of these crimes committed either to obtain money for crack, cocaine, meth, marijuana, or because someone owed money for these items, or because they were on these drugs (rape, murder, agg battery, etc) While it is against the law to use possess these drugs, the large amount of violent crimes committed in this country can be attributed to their use. In general 99% of the steroid users in this country do not committ crimes in order to obtain their supply and these drugs are not harmful to the body unless abused. In order to win the "war" on drugs you have to get at the source, provide education and allow people to have confidence in themselves without the use of drugs. It is not only an economic problem, but a social problem as well. chesty | ||

Some people commit crimes in order to get money to buy a television set or a stereo. That doesn't mean that we need to outlaw televisions and stereos. It's wrong when a white-collar embezzler goes scot-free, but a guy with two joints ends up in a cell with a murderer for 5 years. | ||

Yes I would agree if that was the majority of the cases. But, I never took anyone to jail for Marijuana, unless they had enough to sell, or had other warrants and shit out on them. The majority of crimes are committed by people with a drug habbit. Yes, some do it to get tv's and stereos, and such, but when the majority of violent crimes are committed by drug users, that should be a hint. The majority of white collar crimes are prosecuted and the suspect is jailed depending on the severity of the crime. From the numerous times I have been in court, I have watched the judge look at a parole violator who violated his parole by using drugs or alcohol, and instead of revoking the parole, they would reinstate and let them go. I have watched the judges let people go with drug charges because it was their first time and they did not have enough on them except for personal use. chesty I am biased in this because of the devestation I have seen it cause. | ||

I hear you, chesty, and I respect your anecdotes since you've been a Law Enforcement Officer. I've heard differing stats on a national level, though. I also think it's true that drug prices would go down if they weren't controlled by drug cartels (how much did whiskey cost during prohibition vs. now?), and Law Enforcement would have more money and resources if it wasn't all going towards this. | ||

Out of everyone i know personally who uses marijuana, none have done anything wrongful towards others...not stolen or anything to get it. i have only known one person who used cocaine, and she would stay with guys all night (never admitted to sex though, but i'm sure she screwed them) if they had some with them. thats bad stuff...I'm not saying your wrong, but i just haven't seen a lot of harm coming from responsible marijuana users, except the ones who drive while high, thats not a good idea either. | ||

Yes, if the price of drugs was not what it is, there may well indeed be a less of a problem. On a national level or statistically speaking I do not know what it is, I just know from firsthand experience. I just find it a shame that people have to resort to chemicals to make them feel better and at the same time they are harming their bodies. Maybe if these people fell in love for real and really made love just once they might change their mind. This is getting deep for a Sunday. chesty | ||

It's never that simple, chesty. I drink caffeinated beverages to alter my state of mind and energy level even when I'm getting laid on a regular basis and life is going well. Even when life is good, almost all animals feel a drive to alter their consciousness, whether by coffee, pot, cigarettes, chocolate, or even meditation. Monkeys purposely eat fermented friut in the jungle to get stoned. I don't smoke pot cause it doesn't do happy things to me, but I feel we all have aright to ingest what we will. The government has made some pretty damn arbitrary decisions regarding which naturally-occurring substances are "harmful" and whoich aren't. I'd bet that more violent crime is instigated by drunks than by stoners. | ||

I hear ya, I agree that we should be able to do what we will, when we feel like it. Yeah, drunks start all kinds of fights all the time. There the worst on traffic stops. I wonder what would happen if we suddenly legalized drugs? I almost bet the usage would go down. Nothing legal is that much fun. I think it is a matter of trust, the gov't suppossedly comprised of our peers, has decided that it is morally unacceptable to allow drug use in this country. But Americans in general are like a horse, we are too stupid to realize that we are much more powerful than the few in charge, and until we do we will not get what we want. chesty | ||

Chesty since your in Law Enforcement I can understand your "brainwashed" answers you gave in regards to health issues of Marijuana. You just dont know any better and thats completely understandable, hell if I put the facts right in your face like I am about to do you still probably wouldnt budge one bit but thats ok, anything abused is bad for you, anything, moderation is the key to many things. If you get the chance go to: www.hempcultivation.com scroll down a click on marijana facts. -Certain weed is harmful, certain weed isnt, I have been growing and smoking "organically" grown herb through water , vaporizer or ingestion for almost a decade now, not only am I in excellent shape cardiovascularly but an elite genetic athletic specimen as well. The main arguements about herb being harmful for the lungs and killing brain cells are all lies used by the govt. to exploit herb in a negative manner just because they cant have their way with it, if herb is so bad why is it the number 1 cash crop in the US for the last 8 years, most of the studies done on herb were never backed by any scientific evidence, it was basically heresay that the govt used to their advantage brainwashing many or I should say most residents of the US. Now the morons who smoke on a daily basis and who are constantly rolling papers or using blunts as a means to get high then shit yes I agree with your wholeheartedly but it seemed that you placed everyone in the category of harming themselves when in fact that is far from the truth. Why is it socialy acceptable to get drunk all the time but not to get stoned? I drink and smoke but when Im high I am less likely to get in a fight, or cause any trouble. When im drunk is when all the problems start. ------------------ | ||

Id much rather get stoned then drunk. And getting high is so much safer then drinking, I never cause any trouble when im high, im way to lazy to do anything but sit somewhere or at a party. When I drink I start shit with anybody. And driving high is so much safer then drunk too. So i dont understand why pot is illigal when there are so many drunk drivers killing people on the road and how many stoned drivers kill people. None that I ever hear of. | ||

I used to smoke it all the time. Maybe it was because the weed we (suburban HS kids) always got was shitty, but other than the first few times it made me: Tired, lethargic, unhappy, stupid and hungry. puts me in the best mood ever, makes me want to dance, makes music and food at least 20 times better, makes me feel like i'm closer to everything, and makes me horny. I have yet to see many downsides, other than that whole illegal thing. hey everyones different. |
