Fellas....Listen to this shit. I don't know if I mentioned it before, but as you know I was stationed at Bragg for 4 years with the 325....Well, now I am an Air Force cadet in Texas. I am waiting patiently to find out if I am going to get my pilot slot, which if I do, then this is not really a big deal...However, If I don't get the slot, I found out today what my assignment is going to be....Think Air Force, Gravy right? FUCK!!!!These Assholes assigned me to an intel Air Support Squadron in the shithole of the universe...FORT FUCKING HOOD TX!!!! I am utterly stunned. If I end up not getting my pilot slot, I may have to tell the Air force to shove it up their ass. I didn't get out of the 82nd to end up in dirty, filthy, nasty legland. What do you think? Bro, That's what kept me going for 4 years in the 1st Ranger Bat. If I didn't make the grade...it was world wide assignment...fuck that!!! That shit fucked with me mentally everyday. Most of the guys that quit, or flunked out ended up in a mech. unit at Ft. Stewart...swamp capital of the world! Don't quit....fuck them....lock it out and drive on! Ft. Hey you could end up with the 11th Air Support Operations Sq. they have some Bad Ass ROMAD's Recon Observe Mark And Destroy Close Air Support,We love those guys!!! Thanks for the encouragement guys. I really appreciate it. And you know as well as I do, I could NEVER QUIT....Been a shitty week, but I am just trying to take it out on the weights. I will definitely keep my ear to the ground for the pilot slot and keep ya informed. Who knows, someday You might be calling for close air support from me in my fucking warthog. IP: Logged |

I don't know how long you have been in. I would think at least 8 years. My short thinking brother got out right after the desert fun run. He did very well there and got a bronze star. Anyway after 8 years he's had it can't take any more, he's got to get out.So he comes home and gets a job working with me. The other day in passing he say's man if I had stay in I have 18 years in and looking straight at the back side of retirement. The private sector is not all that great all the time it can realy suck to. IP: Logged |

Get your pilot slot and it won't be a problem. Besides, you're better of out of the "double A" regardless. You're going to think I'm an asshole for saying that, I know. I used to be with 2/75 RGR at Ft Lewis. But that's not why I'm saying shit about the 82nd. If you want to know why the 82nd is the WORST place to be (I'm serious - I have a reason) email me.
