I let a friend borrow money and it's been well over six months since he's paid me back. I heard from a friend that he is going to cancun and is spending extra money on gear. I want to beat this motherfuckers ass but I do not want to resort to violence. Any good way for payback? I do have his girlfriends phone #.     | ||

put adverts in phone bopxes with your girls phone number, advertising him as a rent boy. or just bust into his house while he's away, take some items and say you'll return them when he pays you back. or as both of these will probably get you arrested phone up your citizens advice bureau and ask them where you stand legally. Do you have any receipt of the loan. did you get him to sign anything. do you have any witnesses to the loan, character witnesses? ------------------ | ||

Well money is not an issue here. It's just the principal that he didn't have the decency to tell me he can't pay me back. But the motherfucker has the balls to take a fucking $800 trip to Cancun and a couple hundred on gear. No his girlfriend doesn't know about the gear. Could be a stupid suggestion, but you could ask him for it. Or drop a hint to his girlfriend, girls can be relentless about things like this, she will keep on him until he does pay it back. Or, steal his wallet a use his credit cards. | ||

I've asked him plenty of times for the damn money. All he says is "Man I promise I gonna pay you next month, I'm waiting for my next check". He also owes money to another friend of mine and has also been accused of stealing on several occasions. | ||

For those who suggest legal action: Unless there is a written agreement, then there is no legal recourse. Given the situation, I doubt there is one. Instead, post his name, address, and phone number here, and I am sure many members will be glad to contact him on your behalf. | ||

Never loan money to a friend or relative unless you can afford to write it off as a gift. I would consider this lost money and a lesson learned. | ||

Ask to borrow something like his girlfriend while he is away. Depending on if you like or not you may return the said object in question. borrow some of his gear when he returns Keep training and stay tough | ||

I had a buddy that sold gear and he spotted this guy that was his friend. Well the dude got an attitude about paying him back and was going to start getting gear off the net so he figured would not need this guy. My friend the devient bastard got back at him without getting in trouble. He called local coustoms agents and gave them his name and addy knowing there would be gear coming sometime. | ||

Matt - the statute of frauds requires that certain transactions be in writing. A simple loan is not one of them. It will come down to proving the loan, but an action is not barred and may be brought in any court of competent jurisdiction. Guess I gave away my line of work, huh... | ||

If you have a Crack head Johnny on your side turn him loose to go postal on him..lol j/k Personally I would confront him and say you owe me money yet your making a trip to Cancun, then if he replies like oh I'm putting it on my credit card or getting the money from faimly, say good now get some more and pay me...If that doesn't work, or worst yet, get him totaly wasted so he passes out and set him up to where his gf might find him doing something he shouldn't be doing...
