Is this bull shit or what? Here is an article just released by Reuters.

Creatine Use Could Lead to Cancer--Report

PARIS (Reuters) - Creatine, a dietary supplement used by many athletes to increase muscle bulk, could lead to cancer, a French government agency said on Wednesday.

The French Agency of Medical Security for Food (AFSSA) said in a report published on its Internet site that the use of creatine ``constitutes a risk that has not been sufficiently evaluated, particularly in the long term''.

The report said there is a ``potential carcinogenic risk'' for users of the product, which is sold over the counter in many countries and is not banned by the International Olympic Committee (news - web sites). It is often described as a ``legal steroid''.

The AFSSA report quoted epidemiologic studies that showed creatine causing ``digestive, muscular and cardiovascular problems.''

The report also said the use of creatine should be regarded ''as contrary to the rules, spirit and significance of sport'' and suggested consideration should be given to it being added to the list of banned products.

Former French rugby coach Pierre Berbizier created a storm last month when he said the use of creatine was common in the French championship.

The dietary supplement has been used by many leading sports people, including French tennis player Mary Pierce and baseball player Mark McGwire.

The sale of creatine is banned in France, however, and it is also banned by the French Rugby Union.

It cannot be called a legal steroid! It has no hormonal properties. It is also found naturally in meat and fish and your body produces it too. So you could say your body gives your body cancer. Interesting...

I go to school w/ a kid, who I despise, but since I got a class with him I have to talk to him. Anyway the subject of lifting came up and he said he uses "advance creatine" and that he doesn't use protein cause its a waste. I wasn't gonna bother arguing with him cause I could have a better conversation with a brick wall and since hes on the football team he knows it all.

Make sure you fill him in on prohormones too, that way he won't even have to eat anymore.

If these scientists are as wrong about creatine's carcinogenic potential as they are about its effectiveness then start taking creatine to fight cancer. They say it does not help gains in strength??? How wrong can you be?

And creatine is illegal in France? Guess the import of fish and beef must be outlawed as well, since they both contain creatine.

They had some guy saying it wasn't fair to take creatine & that it shouldn't be used by athletes. Is he against the use of protein too? Anything that helps improve performance should not be allowed?
