Just wondering.... how many guys wear boots versus tennis shoes to work out in at the gym. I like to wear combat boots, but rarely see anyone else wearing them. What type of tennis shoe or boots do you wear??

Get a good shoe with good lateral support. (Basketball shoe for example) or boots such as skechers would do fine. I use nike crosstrainers. Just don't workout in running shoes, big mistake!

I wear work boots. I like the flat bottom and slight heal for squatting. It also protects my arch during calf raises.

I was thinking of trying the combat boot thing. Can I get them cheap from Sunnys?

skate board sneakers with seme-high tops have the best ankle support (for a sneaker) and are the best multi-purpose shoe available.

I wear wrestling shoes. I especially love the way they feel when I am squatting.

what are these "shoes" you speak of? I'll have to look into getting a pair.
as for the workboots in the gym, I think it looks kinda redneck. but hey, if you are a construction worker and it is too hard to change into something else, I say go for it.

also, high tops don't really offer any greater ankle support, it is just a feedback loop to your brain that makes it more aware of ankle rotation and compensates for it with muscle stimuli to support it.
you can argue all you want that high tops help, but they don't - trust me - or better yet, go look up the research your own bad self.
as for boots, I still maintain they look silly in the gym. just b/c some huge ass dude in Flex is wearing them, doesn't mean you need to. He is also wearing a torn tank top and zebra print pants. silly as fuck.

Boots on leg day. Cross-trainers the rest of the time.
